Title: Panzer IV & German Infantry.
Post by: JamesValentine on 07 March 2017, 06:11:18 PM
This is just the beginning of the project.
Every model was very kindly donated by the online community and I owe them all greatly.

These were undercoated this morning and I've only gotten so far which I will post tomorrow.

I'm afraid a 3mp camera has massive limitations on quality.

By the night she had reached this point

It seems to have some background items in better focus, so maybe that's the problem, try a plain background and surface of some sort, so the camera focuses on he model maybe?

I'm no photographer btw.  :?

I think the problem may be that the camera can't focus very on close up items. The box lids look pretty crisp, as do some of the more distant figures in the background of some of the shots.

Try taking the photos from a bit further away. Don't use optical zoom. But then crop the photo to just show the tank. While 3MP is pretty low, it should be fine for taking a photo for the web, which will generally only be 1MP at most.

Is the idea to have the shcurzen (sp?) left green, to look like replacement parts?

I can see the attraction of this Panzer IV for you (its conversion and painting has a certain charm). Make sure to continue updating this thread with your progress.

I'll see what I can get done Picture wise. I did try asking others or gaming stores if they could help or had people that could. but no luck unfortunately.

And yes the Shurtzen is to be left green. I liked the contrast and it could be replacement parts. A fully brown tank may of bored me hehe.
will be starting the infantry soon-ish. just been doing another model to break up the painting.

I quite like the contrast in the skirts.  There are loads of period photos which show that sort of thing.  Very nice work, though if you can, get rid of the cross off the front transmission hatch.

Looking forward to seeing more.

From what I can see this paintjob looks really good, and I strongly approve of you following your whimsy when it comes to the replacement parts on that tank! When I saw the first pictures I thought 'err' but the final ones have really flipped my opinion round - well done!

I have PM'd you too - please keep posting your updates  :)

Special effect background ^___^. You can chromakey in the scenary.

They are a lot clearer but the photographs are a little large for the resolution.

yeah still allot of pic issues. but I'm happy enough to just be doing something. when a solution presents itself be assured I shall post again with better pics.

Until then just imagine its the "fog of war" blocking the camera

Haha That's funny. So what's your eventual plan for your forces? Are you going to do Brits too or just stick with Germans and look for an opponent?

the germans I'd like to reach company level with quite allot of armour.
for the opposition...I'm thinking russia. that way I can go against Japanese as well. then british can go against the japanese and germans.
dunno if I'll do Yanks...most likely will eventually.

money willing. its ok having dreams though
