What the title says really, does anyone know where I can find good US Cav models in 20mm or 1/72, specifically with standing horses. There's plenty of guys charging around madly waving swords or firing wildly from the saddle of a galloping mount, but very few good static poses.
With that in mind, not many dismounted cavalry figures, either.
There aren't many decently accurate plastic sets about and I have the Waterloo brand US Cav box, which is probably the best of a bad bunch.

They're the old Atlantic figures if memory serves? They do dismounted Cav, which look half decent with all them 'arrers removed!

Same company made a US camp which included a couple of standing horses.

Hope this helps, hope we get to see some of those lovely old figures, painted up by your good self.

Confusingly, Waterloo do boxes called 'US Custer', 'US Cavalry' and 'US 7th Cavalry', the first two of which are re-released Atlantic monstrosities (but yeah, the Custer set is probably the only dismounted ones I'm likely to find) and the last one is actually a half tidy effort aesthetically, albeit not with the poses I want.

You have in metal from Newline Designs us cavalry, Plains indians and OW gunfighters.
Also worth checking Tumbling Dice ACW range for cavalry.
If you need standing horses and the ACW ones suits you i have some from Newline i wont use. Just pm if interested and i can take some photos.
