Post by: Cotton Eyed Joe on March 13, 2017, 04:15:36 PM
Hi Folks,

Trying to draw up a free flag pack for the English Command Pack and my friend designed these as The British Guard Maiden Clockwork Calvary Pennants.

What do you guys think....

Heraldically speaking, the Unicorn is Scottish, not English. But if you say "British Command Pack" instead of "English" it covers both of them and the Welsh too. :)

As to whether it is cool or fruity or not, I really couldn't say.

No, I love the white Flag with the Unicorn etc, and that is a definite freebie in the command pack. I just noticed there was a a lot of large flags and thought some pennants would be cool. I am neutral about the (this) pennant but before I reinvented the wheel I thought I would see what everyone thought....

Sorry, I meant, as Plynkes mentioned, that the unicorn signified Scotland, and in the British Heraldric form, the lion-and-the-unicorn indicates British royalty. Wasn't sure if that might have blocked its use [in the period]. I'm not familiar with lion images in use, but I'm no expert.

Edit: [You'd think I could get right the first time, SOME time...]

You could always try a design featuring a head of a Hind i.e. Female deer of either Red Deer or Sika used in many instances.
Non political and fairly generic but still with a strong female vibe
