Brigadier Etienne Gerard disguised as the Emperor at Waterloo:
"...to fight was absurd; to fly was ridiculous. The Emperor was stout and weary to death. At the best he was never a good rider. How could he fly from these picked men of an army; ... I rushed to the side of the Emperor, who stood petrified, with the carriage between him and the enemies. "Your coat, Sire! your hat!" I cried. I dragged them of him..." this is a scratch miniature of Arthur Conan Doyle's famous character Etienne Gerard ...my birthday present painted by my friend Aris Kosionidis

:o An original idea!
An excellent conversion for this vignette that narrates this specific passage!
Mille bravo to Aris!!!

EXcellent :)

The more I look at it the more I like it!
Aris captured the movement!
The galloping horse, the fake "Emperor" hussar leaning forward, riding furiously, the coat blowing in the wind!
Really an inspired 1/72 conversion!

I just re-read those stories. Great character and a great conversion.

3rd Hussars , French grey ? I hav,nt got the books to hand but, if memory serves , the author refers to them by name and not number. I always assumed it was the third.

Light blue dolman under the Emperors grey coat, light blue breeches with white lace, black shabraque, I think Aris depicts the 10nth

But It is the Emperors' greatcoat...
for those who are interested: here is a PDF copy of A.C.Doyle's "the adventures of Gerard" . You can find all information you need for the famous Hussar

I read quickly and found an interesting part: Exactly what the vignette shows:
...I rode with my head sunk between my shoulders in
Napoleon’s fashion, and I did not dare to look back for fear
they should see my moustache. I had turned up the collar of
the grey coat so as partly to hide it. Even now if they found
out their mistake they might turn and overtake the carriage.
But when once we were on the road I could tell by the
drumming of their hoofs how far distant they were, and it
seemed to me that the sound grew perceptibly louder, as if
they were slowly gaining upon me...

Now, this is what I found in Wikipedia
Brigadier Gerard
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brigadier_Gerard
A quote from this link:
...The fictional Gerard is not to be confused with the real Napoleonic officer Étienne Maurice Gérard (1777–1852), who rose to become a Marshal and later Prime Minister of France...
Finally, we found the number of his Regiment:
...By 1810 he is colonel of the 2nd Hussars. He serves in Spain, Portugal, Italy, Germany and Russia. He is awarded the Grand-Cross of the Légion d'honneur by Napoleon in 1814...
