Title: Sources for separate 28mm kasa or jingasa?
Post by: WuZhuiQiu on March 26, 2017, 05:18:07 AM
I'd like to convert a Bushido figure to hold a kasa or jingasa in one hand, while he wields his katana with the other.

What are some sources for separate 28mm kasa (i.e. conical woven hats) or jingasa (armoured hats)?

I suppose that I might hollow-out the jingasa from a spare Wargames Factory, now Warlord, head, but would be curious to know what other options might be available?

If you have some thinner cardstock, you can make them rather easily. Use a compass to make a circle then cut a line from the center to the rim and you can adjust the angle of it by curling it up and using one side of the cut to the center as a flap and just use a bit of glue to hold it in place. You can either make the texture either with how you paint it, or with a very stiff brush and a thin layer of green stuff or filler or plaster patch.

Not sure where the original tutorial I'd seen for them is because the method was one I'd found on Warseer before they had their forum issues, though you can probably find it with a search there.
