Title: Alien walking vehicle
Post by: Froggy the Great on March 04, 2009, 05:03:53 PM
Made from nails, VCR parts, drywall anchors and a vending machine bubble.
Doom comes . . . on four spindly feet.  I had to make one of these as soon as I saw Planet X had rules for them.

Is that a Black Manta Heroclix conversion as the pilot?

Great conversion and painting on this vehicle. Looks like it'll work well in a game. Thanks for sharing.

The feet are nails stuck into the cut-off ends of drywall screw anchors, and the ball joint is putty.

Thank you all!

Apparently Black Manta is more widely known than I thought.  I was just thinking "Oh, here's a clix figure I can use as a generic Gray alien."

Oh, he's definitely a good choice for the role, Froggy. But this -is- a board of gamers, and most of us are masters of our nerdy domains;)

I was the weird kid who usually liked the villains more than the heroes... I have a Black Manta (with removable helmet and multiple points of articulation, thank you very much! ) in my collection of action figures here in the office. No way I wasn't going to notice him;)

Heh.  Cool.  I was the kid who read comics for three weeks in second grade, then decided I liked the Muppet Show better.  You may be able to tell, actually.

Great thing is, the conversion cost me $0.50 for the bubble and a dead VCR for everything else.
