Earlier this year I finished a 15mm Later Samurai DBA army. It was a tough army to paint and I resorted to painting the lace on the armour one dot at a time! I am very pleased with how they came out, but the only problem is I have about another 400 figures in a box to paint! Anyway, I will post the various bases over the next few days.

yeah I wasnt sure if they should be in the Renaissance section or not, but I am using them for DBA not DBR or FOGR

I concur, a lovely Renaissance army. Not many people appreciate that the classic struggles between Takeda, Oda, Toyotomi, Tokugawa et al occurred at roughly the same time as the British Elizabethan Age.
I also have a problem with DBA vs DBR. The degree of weapon and unit specialisation from the 1570s onwards is I feel more appropriate to a DBR setting, though I have not fully reconciled the representation of the feudal units on the tabletop with the specialists such a pike (nagae-yari) and shot (arquebus) with such a small number of representative models per stand

It drives me crazy to find even now so few rulebooks or makers recognise that the Japanese had pikemen. The old stereotype of gung-ho individualists in a disorderly and rather small mob should have been buried at a crossroad with a stake through its heart by now.

Speaking of Pikes, here is two bases of Ashigaru Pike. A bit hard to see from this angle and one has a sword but they are Pike in DBA terms.

Some lovely figures there for sure, I like the use of the maku corner instead of the conventional back and two wings seen in a number of other armies. I may shamelessly copy that idea... :D
The nagae-yari were formidable looking weapons, like the Macedonian sarissa, but with japanese steel at the end!... according to the wiki
"Nagae yari (long shafted spear) 16.4 to 19.7 ft (5.0 to 6.0 m) long, a type of pike used by ashigaru.[13][14] It was especially used by Oda clan ashigaru since the reign of Oda Nobunaga; samurai tradition of the time held that the soldiers of the rural province of Owari were among the weakest in Japan. Indeed, Kantō was a chaotic place; Kansai was home to the Shogunate, and the Uesugi, Takeda, Imagawa, and Hojo clans, as well as pirate raiders from Shikoku. Additionally, Kyushu was home of one of the most warmongering clans in Japan, the Shimazu clan. Because of this, Nobunaga armed his underperforming Ashigaru soldiers extra-long pikes in order for them to be more effective against armoured opponents and cavalry, and fighting in groups and formations."

I was meaning to add a tree to the baggage base but forgot all about it! I will probably add a large bush on the base instead as I'm prone to knocking stuff if its too tall.
