Hi all,
These are the first three figures for a Unit of twelve which suppose to depict the 2nd Hussars. The figures are the metal codes from Perry Miniatures. I have not painted Perry Miniatures in a while and was reminded straight away why I do not always enjoy painting them. The casting issue is really grinding on me and I do miss sometimes the lack of sharp and crips details I find with other manufacturers. I still love the realistic proportions and poses of them but most of the time I have to guess when painting some of the finer details of the figures.

Yes, Perry figures (especially the Napoleonics with their elaborate uniforms) can be fiddly to paint as you often have to 'interpret' the finer details, but you did an outstanding job on these Sascha.
That said, I purchased that same hussar command pack a few months ago and thought the casting quality had improved, apart of course from the fusssy but soft detail and the usual 'worms' and pointy bits of excess metal which make Perry figures a chore to clean up sometimes.

Beautiful work Sascha! :-*

Fine work as always expected by a master.

Stunning, the grey horse in particular is delightful ;D

One of my favourite units of the Napoleonic wars… just love the brown and light blue mix. Great work! 8)

Agreed! and I am really starting to also have issues with the plastics of all ranges and manufacturers, building tiny models with the proper glue depending on plastic used is just frustrating and stinks. Especially the kits that have plastic to metal parts that need bonding. :'(
Oh, by the way, love the artwork on your figures. :o

Bonjour,
Agree with the comments, both positive and negative about, Perrys' figures especially the point about them being more challenging to paint, well for me anyway!
Sascha you've overcome the difficulties and the results are stunning.
I need more Hussars but also need mre Dragoons... and the list goes on!
Cheers,
Paul

Great work as always, and I absolutely love that grey horse - that is absolutely stunning!
As for the Perrys' casting quality, it's one of the reasons why I prefer their plastics. And it's really a shame and not quite understandable for me why they put so much work into their sculpting and little details but don't care more about preserving all that work on the actual castings.
