We have started to play Osprey Black Ops for both Modern and WW2 with an FJ raid on a British defended radar station last night but my thoughts are going towards the use of Rubber Duckies and RHIBs. I have the Eureka Nato Frogmen set (very nice) but I'm looking at the larger type RHIB, any thoughts on makers or sources?
I have one toy piece which is too big unfortunately.

Propaganda Company used to make some 1/48 RHIBs but I understand they are defunct. Not tried them myself but IIRC Cararama make one to go with a 1/43 or 1/48 car.
There's also one on Shapeways if your budget can stand it.

I had forgotten about the Shapeways one but it is exxy. I shall pursue the Cararama line.

They are quite small and can get "crowded" if you want to place miniatures onto them. Especially if you have heroic miniatures or 25mm + bases. Will try to post a comparision pic tonight

Thanks, I will look forward to the pics. I found some on Ebay and they look to be suitable.

Sorry ... I totally forgot to post the pic!
Without further due ...

Thank you. It looks similar to one I got from Ebay (sad tale of customs/Ebay incompetence delays) but no outboard motors on mine, just look like jet nozzles.

By curious coincidence I happened to be in the Reject Shop today and discovered they have a clockwork RHIB of about the right size. The wind up section is in a ridiculously oversized outboard motor but that looks easy enough to remove. It is of course full hull but it's reasonably shallow to start with and being plastic I reckon a good sanding stick would take care of that.
Presuming they have Reject Shops in Sandgroper land it's worth checking out. Only a few pesos.

Thanks CM. Indeed we have a Reject Shop at my local shopping centre. I shall hunt one out. We are actually quite civilised here in the west but we try not to advertise it. ;)

Well, that was a emotional rollercoaster. When I read the threads name, I was expecting some bright yellow rubberducks for your bathtub in 28mm. I got excited, noticed that I was wrong, was less excited, but those motor boat looks interesting, might be something for survival zombie games etc.
-
And just my luck, none in store, I will keep looking.
I have ordered a TT Combat Abandoned apartment for terrain.
-
Let me know if you want it. I had another look it's a bit bigger than I remember but then RHIBs come in varios sizes. It's only $2.50
-
Can you get a phone pic next time you cruise the shops? ;)
-
The $2 Reject Shop toy RHIBs have finally made it across the Great Australian Bight to WA. Several have been acquired on Poiter50's behalf.

Where is that "like" button? lol

Thanks for the tip - I will have to check it out too.

I've got a dinghy ... and a jet ski in my apocalypse isle project...
APOC 020 - Rigid dinghy plus crewman (conversion by AKULA)

I scratch built the dinghy, and it ones with a whole bunch of stowage, under license from Slug Industries

Thanks Monkeylite & Akula. I now have 4 (3 varieties) thanks to this search/topic. The Reject Shop ones need a better outboard motor so maybe a request to Eureka will fix that.
Akula, your outboard motor and the helmsman would be useful but they would be the only pieces I need from your range (who an I kidding) so unfortunately I won't do an order. Are you at any UK shows in June this year?
