The latest WW2 US releases are now in the shop.
We are very pleased to present the latest releases in our 28mm World War 2 US range. This release contains a combination of additional rifleman poses (we are aiming for little or no pose repetition in your squads or platoons) and support weapons. We have two bazooka teams, both firing and moving, which were part of the armoured infantry squad make-up and an essential Platoon support option more generally. Along with these we have the first of our .30cal options, in this case the M1917A1 which was the heavier brother to the M1919.

You might not be surprised when we mention that more figures are on their way soon, but not before Salute!
With Salute in mind we strongly recommend pre-ordering for collection at the show if you are attending this year. We inevitably run out of popular items quickly on the day so pre-ordering can be the safest way to guarantee that you get what you want! Who knows, we might even share one or two secrets about upcoming releases depending on how busy we are ...
We are on stand TE15 this year.

You do realise that when Frank Chaswick came up with the term 'bathtub campaign' that's not quite what he meant? :)
Look forward to seeing those.

Will Empress be releasing a matching U-boat?

I am looking forward to the U Boat Crew.
-
I'm hoping against hope, Paul, that your U-boat crew will be a reasonable fit with Artizan's Thrilling Tales U-boat crew. I know Mike Owen's sculpts are usually at the larger end of the 28mm world, whilst yours are often at the smaller, but...
Well, you know.. It would be nice if they were vaguely compatible. Just saying... :)

Excellent, usable in Spyfi so popped it on the Crooked Dice forum.

looking brill again !!

I've just added the new infantry packs to my cart, and was a little taken aback to see all the vehicles. I'm not familiar with the JFTM range, but presumably these are in 1/50 scale, as discussed in a previous thread?
As for the U boat, it isn't identified - a type VIIC?
-
The JFTM kits are actually the more standard 1/56th scale. We are more comfortable with this for larger vehicles especially tanks and the like. Empress don't have plans to make the big stuff anytime soon - but for smaller 'soft skin' vehicles the figures look odd if they can't interact properly in the interior space.
Hope that makes sense?
-
Thanks for the clarification, Keith. At least I don't have to replace my existing tanks - potential quality issues aside, that is.

More wonderful work from Mr. Hicks!
