After a many years break I somehow came back to painting and purchasing Clanwar miniatures I was so fond of when they hit the shelves back in 1999.
With the help of some LAF'lers who sold me some stuff from their collections I more or less worked the last 12 months on this project.
Here are the first few pictures of some Dragon Clan Samurai.
cheers Thomas
P.S. I shall add some more pics to my user gallery here on LAF

Lovely smooth brushwork.

Lovely work, really nicely done! :) I have a load of Clanwar minis sitting in the back of a drawer unpainted and unloved :( Maybe the inspiration I need! lol

Lovely painting, super setup and great photos!
Look forward to following this thread.

That's some nice painted minis! 8) I really like what you've achieved with your picture set up! Nice wee scenes! :-*

Great painting on these and photography too.
The start of a nice looking force.
Makes me wonder which will be next ;).

Ditto on that but today is not that day :D

I love it. I dragged out my nearly 20 year old Crane army the other day to use in Dragon Rampant....
-
I am actually planning to use them fpor a WHFB Nippon army.
Just some special troops were missing, but the Dragon Empire Kickstarter will help to fill that gap with a few temple dog cavalry, a bolt thrower, a dragon rider and a lady on a koi fish ;)

Real nice! I did a few more last night couple of Wizard and Geisha's Clan wars are really fun to paint some very challenging

Thanks for all your comments they are really welcome :)
At first I wondered how much attention this quite old system will get, but should not have been surprised here on LAF ;)
Here now some units of the second clan painted:
The Crab: The defenders of the wall
The Hida House Guard I did twice, first the grey white pattern which was inspired by an old Clan War poster I found. But this looked surprisingly boring to me :( so I decided to do the second unit with some blue and red colors. As I am pretty happy with this color scheme, I have used it for more units.

These are really excellent, superb work!

Wonderful!
A question: where are the arch trees seen in the first picture, from? Is it home made?
Thanks.
-
Thanks for all your nice comments :)
Euthanasor: I don't understand the term "arch tree"?
In the first pic the pine trees are from the German manufacturer "Noch", the Bamboo is a recent pucase and made from 2 colored soft platic and just coated to reduce the shine. The big broadleaf tree I made ages ago from a kit by "Heki" another manufacturer based in Germany.
I hope this answers your question, if not just specify a bit more.
