Title: A pair of Thousand Sons/ Vlyka Fenryka battles

Here are some pictures of two games we played yesterday.

They were some of the first games I've played with my Thousand Sons and Space Wolves and the first since Inferno came out.

There were new units a plenty, with Leman Russ and his wolf kin taking the field in the first game, never having seen action before.  On the Thousand Sons side my new Sekhmet Terminators, two rhinos and a Castellax psychic-automaton were on the field of battle for their first outings.

In addition to Russ a new unit of Rout Terminators took to the field.

Next time I have them out there will be a couple of rhinos for the SW, a unit of Grey Slayers and probably some more Sisters of Silence.

Don't really care for silly gigantic wolves, but the overall painting of the minis is fantastic.  Brave to fight on so little terrain!  lol

Neither game felt like it had a lot of terrain but both felt like they had enough. The patches of visible ice in the first game counted as difficult terrain.  That made moving the rhinos tough as we ruled that if they failed the test they would break through.  The second game had a fair amount of terrain, especially near the wolves.  It would probably have been better for the T-Sons had their been less actually.

I was more thinking about what the narrative told me about those areas than game effects when setting up the battlefields.

Also I didn't see any wolves in the game.  The snow game was set on Fenris, so there couldn't possibly have been any wolves there.

I love how the righteous of the Emperor are 2 steps away from being chaos spawn.

::SPOILER::
The wolves are made out of people! Well they are SW marine people.  lol
