Title: SofBH's 'Flying Lead'...
Post by: Harry Faversham on April 10, 2017, 02:43:29 PM
Anybody played a skirmish game using these rules? In 'Song of Blades and Heroes' the firing ranges are...
Short 75mm Mid 120mm Long 180mm
Are these ranges the same in their 'Flying Lead' rules, for example, shooting a self loading rifle, or a S.A.W.? If so it all seems a bit close for 'modern' weaponry.
???

You multiply these ranges (so 2 x range band has no modifer, 3 x range band is -1, 4 x range band is -2, etc). The Hearts and Mind supplement extends this out further.

Weapons are assigned a range band (as in short (75mm), medium (120mm) or long (180mm)) and the range is measured in multiples of these bands. So a "short" weapon has no modifier out to 150mm (2x75mm band), a -1 out to 225mm (3x 75mm band) etc...
Hope this helps
