To go along with Suetonius Paullinus excellent Roman Victrix thread I thought it would be a fine opportunity to show of my recent painting in form of the Spanish cavalry also from the ever brilliant Victrix company. I have once again used their shield transfers and with those in hand the miniatures paint up quickly and with very good result (at least in my opinion).

These guys will join my Spanish/Iberian infantry to form a decent size allied wing for my growing Carthaginian army. After having gotten hold of the To the Strongest ruleset this army has shifted from a mere summer painting project to suddenly fighting against my old Wargames Factory Gauls and Romans in a Second Punic War struggle. To add flavor to our battles we plan on using Avalon Hills Hannibal: Rome vs. Carthage board game to generate battles for us. With elephants coming up this year and Numidian light cavalry still to go, this Carthaginian army will hopefully not be finish in any near future.
Happy Easter

Very nice....do you have any close ups?
I have been thinking about buying the Spaniards and Numidians for a while now. I do have some of their older Napolenic sets and am not very happy with them.
So, anything that shows how their quaility has improved would be appreciated.
Thank you.
Tom.

A fine sight! Most impressive.

Cool cavalry! :-*
Victrix have superb kits and the punic wars is a great setting. My magna grecia hoplites would be good opponents of your iberians! :D

They look great.

Really great stuff thanks for sharing.
cheers Thomas

Fantastic painting on those miniatures. I have the same set sitting on my painting table and now I have some inspiration to get them done.

Thanks for the comments. I hope the army will grow this year even though many other projects are also waring for their place on the painting table.

Hey Tom.
I dont have any close ups at the moment, but you could have a look at my thread from last year with the Iberian infantry. There is at least one close up of one of the miniatures.

There is also a review of the armored Iberian infantry from Siam Tiger that you might like.

Those are impressive. I've always thought Iberian cav were kind of boring, but this gives the lie to that belief! Very nice.

Mmmm, yes. :)

Love your figures.
The Spanish are so neat.
Need to pick up some cav and infantry.

They look fantastic. I've assembled my Spanish cavalry but not painted them yet, but they are great quality. I was very impressed by how easily the horses went together.

Wonderful!
