another impossible choice, the shields on the wolves entry are amazing, as are the stipey pants and the warpaint
and the scene set by the coven entry is so characterful and those human faced rats are just genuinely creepy
-
I love those rat-things! My reaction to them was one of laughter rather than creepiness, though. They're brilliant.
No idea how to vote in this one. I'm not going to say that thing that everybody says (because I think being able to vote for both is a moronic idea ;D), I'm just going to go away and think about it.
-
Perfectly staged picture, Jan, against another very atmospheric scene from the Prof. Great paintjobs on both, so a classic match once again!
-
Rat-things are surely a "not-Brown-Jenkin". Delightful. Where I can get some? (Not that mine would get painted anything like as well as these, of course)
-
Both entries are fantastic. I've been agonising for five minutes on which one to vote for. This is just getting ridiculous!
-
Look at that woad warpaint on the Berserker! :o Look at those rats with human heads! :o
I had to look a long time at this match up before voting.
-
Where did you find the witch holding the frog?
-
Beautiful scenes from two talented painters.

Looks like the witch from Strange Aeons, the familiars are certainly from that range.

I agree with everyone's comments. I noticed the warpaint and the shading on the familiar's faces (heck, the shading on everything!). Matchups like this are what makes LPL great. Spending your time admiring each scene to look for any edge one might have over the other...

Both excellent! I love the prow of the longship poking up in the background of the Wolves of the Sea picture, Lt. Hazel! Beautiful painting on both of these - the rich colours, the crispness, the attention to detail. Wow.

This was tough
-
Both excellent entries.
I really, really like the viking set up :) Excellent stuff!
Prof, the witch set up is awesome, and the character you squeezed on to those rodent faces is great.
Thanks

Two great entries making it very difficult to post my vote.
Well done to you both.

Amazing work on both. Really hard choice.
-
Both amazing entries! However, I'd be remiss if I didn't say 'Holy!'...or 'Unholy' as the case may be...about those Familiars and Witches!!!
-
Wow Alex that was quite close. You know I love your pic, and thought I would get a good bashing like all the years before when I first saw it.

This probably was the toughest one yet. Two masterfully painted groups with excellent scenic background from two of my most favourite painters out there. It took ma quite some head scratching before I could finally make up my mind.

Amazing work on the scene, Jan, lovely paintwork and very clever use of perspective. Congrats, well deserved and I was sure you are going to win :) See you next LPL, mate ;)
