Greetings from the Omega Zone!
It's been just over a week since Scrappers hit the open market, and we wanted to give everyone a little time to settle in to their books before setting up our official LAF thread. So here we are!
We have a public Facebook group here https://www.facebook.com/groups/107169383140215/?multi_permalinks=172336063290213¬if_t=like¬if_id=1493437684142642 for those interested in the social networking aspect of things.
We have assembled some Game Aids to help you build your Crew's, a new Crew Manifest to record their stats and gear, and a handy Play Reference Sheet to refer to during play. You can find them each here:
http://www.brinkofbattle.com/downloads/scrappers_build_reference_sheet.pdf
http://www.brinkofbattle.com/downloads/scrappers_roster_sheet.pdf
http://www.brinkofbattle.com/downloads/scrappers_reference_sheet.pdf
There are also black & white versions on our website in the Downloads tab to aid printing at www.brinkofbattle.com
As with all projects, there are goofs and gaffes that sometimes occur. We have identified a few things that need to be either added or changed in the book. I'm posting them here and they are 'official' so take them as gospel. :)
SCRAPPERS OFFICIAL ERRATA 04/26/2017
1. Commander Trait – This Trait has multiple effects in the game and most are mentioned in the rules where those aspects best apply. The Command Radius was not defined. Insert the following text as the last line of the second paragraph on page 29 under the heading ‘Traits’: “This Trait grants the model a Command Radius equal to its CMD Rating in inches. Model’s on the Commander’s Crew with a lower CMD Rating may substitute the CMD Rating of their Commander if they are within its Command Radius for all Panic Checks.”
2. Flamethrower Gear Trait – Remove the last bullet point ‘Intense Blast’ and its text entirely. Replace with the following bullet point text: “Fixed Range: This Weapon cannot reach beyond 2 x its Effective Range.”
3. Boomsticks – Replace the Thrown Gear Trait with the Fixed Range Gear Trait.
4. Triple Helix Event Factor - It seems the Factor number was left off of all three Triple Helix Event Table results. The Factor for all of these instances is 3.
5. Determine Injury Results pg. 98 1st Sentence replaced with “If the Damage Check result exceeds the Resistance Check by the Defender’s Wound Threshold or more, then it has been Wounded and is removed from play.”
Let's use this forum to share ideas, ask questions, and show off pictures of your Crew's and tabletop scenery!
All my best,
Bob

Not heard much about the game but your figures look great!
I love the beret heads on those bodies.

Awaiting delivery of the rules, I shall follow this with interest, thanks.

Very nice Bob. Who makes those piles of tyres in the background?
Loving the rules, clearly a labour of love. The photos in them show a great collection of figs too. I've been trolling around to find out who makes the two green mutant figures with eyestalk eyes, but no luck so far. Cant you enlighten me please?

Thanks! The tire piles are from Armorcast. And those are both Reaper miniatures using the eye-stalks from the Reaper sprues that have horns, tentacles, and eye-stalks on them. Don't remember the name of the sprue off the top of my head. Chris Wolfe did those figures and knocked it outta the park!

I picked up the game at salute, and have enjoyed what I've read so far.
building a gang so we can try it out fairly soon.
-
Sounds good. Be sure to post in this forum and also ask any rules questions you may have. :)
-
Added a fourth point to the errata in the first post. ;)
-
Picked up the rules a couple of weeks ago and they do look very interesting. Not had a chance to try out for real but looking forward to.
-
Just added one more revision to the Errata listed in the first post. It should clear up any confusion about the Wound Threshold and how to Wound models.

Anyone have any rules questions I can answer?
-
I have a query: Ectopians.
The Bhumpf says these only use weapons they make themselves, but this is not defined, nor is there any actual rule. Just bows and clubs? What?
This is a big disadvanatage compared to the other factions.

They make their own firearms and such. They have access to all Gear except for Artifacts.

I've got a question.
On p18, under "Choose Your Crew's Faction" it says "Each Faction has a Rival Faction thst will alter the Rout Check conditions of a battle" but I can't find the rules for how this actually works. It's not on p83 with the rules for Rout Checks and I can't find it anywhere else. Am I missing something?

Well, you're not missing something, the rulebook is! ;)
Looks like I'll be updating the errata. That its missing is a big mystery. Thanks for asking about that. So the short answer is that you don't have to make Rout Checks when fighting against a Rival Crew until you lose 50%+ of your starting number of models.

Quick question from our game a couple of nights ago.
If both players are using Sons of Entropy, how do you resolve their faction abilities? Specifically...
1) How do you determine who redeploys their models first?
2) Are there any limitations on where you can redeploy other than the stated ones (i.e. within 6" of a table edge, not in your opponent's quarter)? Do you have to observe the 3" gap between models that you have during normal deployment?
For the first point, we randomised who redeployed first then alternated, one model at a time.
For the second, we kept the 3" gap since otherwise there's nothing stopping you redeploying straight into melee with an opponent. As it is, between us we redeployed 10 models onto the same 2' stretch of table edge and fought the entire game at point blank range.
Were we correct? Is there anything to tell us how to resolve this (we couldn't find anything)?

Great questions! Here's the answers:
1. For the re-Deployment, we go with the Sentry Player first, since he got to choose his starting area and the Intruder got stuck with the leftovers. That'll give the Intruder a slight advantage to compensate him for not being able to choose his Deployment area. Don't alternate, between them, have the Sentry re-Deploy all of his available figures, then the Intruder with his.
2. The SOE re-Deployment feature is still Deployment and follows all normal Deployment restrictions except where specifically noted such as coming in from the table edge within 6" instead of deeper into the field like the normal. Note: we've errata'd the Intruder entry to say that all models must be no closer than 3" to Scrap Tokens or other models.
Let me know how these clarifications work for you guys!
