Title: Asked to help find figure.
Post by: Conquistador on April 29, 2017, 03:02:32 PM
"Modern" RPG scale which I take to mean humans are 30 plus mm.  Like 35mm humans?

The actual figure desired is a Dwarf (tall for a dwarf is okay) so I am thinking 28mm?

In a perfect world (simple conversions okay) -

Either
(A)
Chain mail, no shield, War Hammer in one hand, Morning Star or War Pick in other.

(B)
Leather armor, Long Bow, quiver of arrows.  Optionally has War Hammer, Morning Star or War Pick on figure or available to add on figure/base.

I am checking my figures for conversion materials but if someone already makes it all the better.

For the first one (replacing weapons), I suggest this Avatars of War figure:

For the second, this one may work from Ral Partha Europe:

If your human size figures are heroic scale, reaper type, Try using Frostgrave soldiers they work nice as dwarves.

The Frostgrave plastic dwarfs are available very soon, aren't they? There are bow-armed options and - presumably - plenty of kit-bashing options to get exactly the right armament. There are usually individual sprues available on eBay soon after release.

Beards on dwarf figures are a big thing for this person. The picture of the box I have seen shows more clean shaven than beard or mustache looking figures.

This might work, will be suggesting waiting to see.

There's a review on Wargames Terrain here (http://wargameterrain.blogspot.co.uk/2017/04/northstar-miniatures-plastic-fantasy_30.html). For the cost of two Avatars of War dwarf models you could get a box of twenty Northstar ones instead! ;)
