GW of course recommend their Sector Imperialis gameboard and although it looks very nice I just can't justify spending the £200 for it!
So I'm wondering if there are cheaper options out there?
What are you guys using as your gameboard for Armageddon, or what are you intending to use?
Many thanks.

Just as soon as I stop buying the rather excellent scenery, I intend to get an UrbanMatZ 6' by 4' Concrete Area mat from Dark Sphere. The idea of concrete ground appeals to me more than the Games Workshop option, and is much cheaper!

This. There's all sorts of junk and old toys in there as well as some mdf scenery.

I've got loads of Mantics modular stuff for Deadzone. Probably cobble something together from that.

I quiet like the look of TT combats modular MDF Death Quadrant scenery certainly cheaper than GW
https://ttcombat.com/collections/sci-fi-gothic-scenics/products/death-quadrant
you could easily mix it up with their gothic road tiles
https://ttcombat.com/collections/gaming/products/gothic-crossroad-sections
and plenty of other options in their Gothic sci-fi range

takes a little work to put together and paint but in my experience comes up pretty nice.

I know it isn't much help in regards to cost, But john blanche has been posting pictures on facebook and instagram of his shadow wars terrain on forgeworld zone mortalis tiles.
Not any cheaper, But if you do end up thinking about buying the GW board, I'd look into that instead.

I am using this http://www.secretweaponminiatures.com/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=125_130 with the GW scenery.

It's still a few months away, but I'll be using the sweet Battle Systems cardboard terrain: http://www.battlesystems.co.uk/ (http://www.battlesystems.co.uk/).

the terrain in the latest iron sleet post is John blanches own personal scenery.
He bases on zone mortalis tiles.

Now that's how the underhive ought to look.
Absolutely awesome! 8)
Something to aspire to...

Handsome stuff the first time I saw it posted, Pictors, but I'm getting the sense most folk want to go vertical as well.
Was the point of the old Necromunda, though I've not heard if it's in SW:A.

By the way, no one's dusting off some previous Necromunda terrain? I know the lads at the shop are, much dormant for almost a couple of decades lol ; I'll try and get piccies up sometime, though baldlea's set up isn't far off, unless you add some obvious GI Joe, Hot Wheels, etc. constructs. Come to think of it, some Construx and the occasional chopped granny square, as well.

Oh, I'll very much be doing that for starters! :D
I'd like to create the coolest and best terrain for Necromunda / Shadow War, but as the opportunity for that is quite some time off, I'll most likely be pushing those venerable card pieces back into action, next to (and over ;) ) my existing 40K terrain...
Actually, come to think of it, it already has seen previous action outside of Necromunda; in games of Infinity!

I might be using the Mantic Death Zone scenery (heresy!) :D
I also have a question, if you've tried the game yet: the rules recommend 2' x 2' up to 4' x 4': does the former small size work?

I believe you position as an apostate is hardly unique; a couple of fellows who've not started with SW:A have already stated their DZ stuff would be in the mix.
Can't help otherwise. Haven't given it a shot, though the few games I briefly witnessed seemed to suggest 2x2 would be a good place to start. I usually take quite awhile to get rolling on rules, and simple, short, and deadly seem best.

Yes, I'm in good company....
Thanks, that was my thought too - 2' x 2' to begin with.
