Hello gents,
Here I would like to briefly present my platoon Mehal Safari for Chain of Command, which I have finished in the last months and whose first game Happy Wanderer has already shown here:
http://leadadventureforum.com/index.php ? topic = 100754.0 (http://leadadventureforum.com/index.php ? topic = 100754.0)
The major part of the figures are from Empress Miniatures, but to get a larger number of poses, I have swapped heads from their Italian Askaris, Zanzibars from Copplestone with those from Woodbine and even used some heads from the Perry Sudan box as well.
Especially since there are no LMG and HMG available at all for the Abyssinians, I had to scratch-build them.
The SEMAG 20mm AA has been developed in complete self-construction using model parts from 1/48 ranges, like barrel, magazine and so on.
Most photos on my blog have been made against a gray background, because I lacked the right terrain to set the figures, but as of now I have built it, here are the pictures - hope you like it.

Very nice.
Glad I went to your blog.
The large photos of the figures are great.
After seeing them up close.
They just went from very nice to very fine painting, indeed. ;)

Superb interpretation of the Abyssinian warriors.
Wonderful stuff, I hope you add some more and perhaps the warriors themselves for a truly unique force.
Top stuff.

Thanks to both of you, glad you like it :-)
@Happy Wanderer: There will follow some warriors over the time, because we would like to fight some tribal wars as were common in Abyssinia, time will tell ;-)

Really beautiful work! The MG/ HMG /AA conversions are especially good. (I found my Mahel Safari army in the loft this afternoon and thought I must get it out for a game sometime...)
