Title: Jagannath's Fantasy Thread
Post by: Jagannath on May 24, 2017, 05:13:29 PM
Hiay all,

This is a bit of a placeholder whilst I tidy off my LPL entries, but I've had a hankering recently to paint some fantasy miniatures (particularly magic users/wizards) with some Frostgravey theme in mind. Nowt too flash or conceptual, just painting for fun.

Having said that, I realised I do have a heavily converted Ungor warband I built for Frostgrave ages ago awaiting paint, so I had a wee dabble with them to get the juices flowing.

I've set myself a few 'rules' to speed up painting a little (I'm a VERY slow painter) - the fur is strictly triads, no washes or messing about - the skin is strictly base/wash/rebase then two highlights, rattled through sharpish. I'm going for tabletop+ standard, so hope to keep the tempo up.

I'm going to paint the fur and skin on them one-by-one in various warm greys and browns and beiges - hopefully they'll look ragtag but tie together... this guy is probably at the most extreme end of colours (little too dark skin and little too orange fur) but that's cool. Anyway, i'll add more next week-ish.

Nice. The colour mix is not too garish. He is looking good so far.
