Thanks to my pal 'hasbeen', Dead Man's Gulch, is just about sorted. With that in mind it's time to find out who's the head honcho in these here parts. Tuco and his gang of greaser scumbags are heading in from the north, Snake Eyed Pete and his border scum from the west, and Major Hampton-Gayblade (late of the 4th. Virginia Cavalry) as always from the south.
Only one bunch can rule the Gulch, Dolores Trollope's not bothered who, as her and her gals are each sitting on a gold mine!
:)
-
"Hey Mister... that's a big gun!"
Got to be a +1 to whoever's toting that bit of ironmongery!!!???
-
The Dook has decided to sit this one out...
:o
-
"Fill yore hands you sonovabitch!!!"
:-*
-
"Hell, I kind of figured any man carrying that many guns must be scared of everything!"
:-*
-
Thet thar is one fine lookin' game, sir. :o And some fine guns, too! :o (Ah jest can't believe you live in Blighty, and not somewheres closer to sagebrush, wide-open sky, varmints and proper grub.) ;)
-
Great stuff. I've owned a lot of firearms in my day, and normally they're serious "work pieces" (i.e. modern, reliable, built with a purpose) but my favourite is a reproduction 1851 Richard-Mason conversion (shoots .38). Something about a hexagonal barrel, blued finish w/ brass, single action...just wonderful. It's the only "fun" gun I own.
-
Harry the town is looking good but so too are the revolvers, what make and model are the two with brass fittings?
-
A copy of the Colt Walker perhaps and a "more normal" service issue black powder revolver. Both prior to the conversions of course.
-
Yep, the Colt Walker is made by Uberti. The brass framed Colt is just a monkey metal wall hanger given to me by the barkeep of our local saloon! The sixshooters and the Winchester are CO2 airguns made by Umarex.
My lad playing at Cowboys with big boy's toys!
:-*
-
Harry if i ever work out how to load pictures onto the LAF I'll show you the rest of the town.
It would fill out your table just fine, well at least once you took of the over-scale weapons (are
they Redoubt 28mm? lovely figures but BIG).
Also still waiting for your Boot Hill details, so that I may start work on it.
-
Additional Options...
If you click on it a box comes up with 'Attach' select 'choose file' and this will bring your computer's documents/pictures up. Then you can add a picture, or more by clicking on 'more attachments'.
I know, first hand, the standard of the modelling your Wild West stuff and would love to see some piccys on here. As regards Boot Hill, I'm still thinking about wot I want, can't decide between low adobe walls round it, or that excellent broken down fencing you do!
:)
-
Cheers Harry - they both look the business, had a look at the uberti site, very tempting, always liked the hex barrel on the Colt navy.
-
Lot of nice BP cap and ball revolvers available at Henry Krank's in Pudsey.
:)
-
Harry - what have you done, they have a brown bess for a lot less money than I expected well as BP pistols.
I can see reading your post might be going to cost me some money lol
Thanks for the info
-
;D Get it done Pilgrim! ;D
-
Harry! I have been following your instructions as to adding a picture, so far no luck. I have got as far as attaching photos, but when I try to post (or even 'preview') it keeps telling me 'too big' 'limit 1500kb'
As I have no idea just how many kb in each picture I kept reducing the number of photos, first 6 then 5,4,3,2, even just one!
Still 'Too big'.
Wot iz oi doin wrooong?
-
This is going to sound very long winded but is actually the work of but minutes. Click on 'pictures' on your computer's control panel and highlight the file with the cowboy building piccys in it. Right click and a box will come up, select 'send to'. From this sub box pick 'mail recipient'. A box will appear with a drop down box to select piccy sizes, select 'small 800x600' then select 'attach'. This will generate an e-mail which you send to yourself! When it arrives right click on each individual piccy and select 'save picture as'. You'll then have a full set of Cowboy town piccys resized under the 'limit 1500kb' wot's stopping you from posting the pictures.
It's taken longer to type this bollix than it will for you to resise and save fifty piccys... good hunting Companyero!
Or... emayl the piccys to me and I'll do it!!!
:o

Yesterday's game of FofL was a blast in more ways than one. We played the 'Posse and Devil's Hole' scenario. Snake Eyed Pete and his scumbags were holed up in a derelict ranch house in the badlands, one of his young underlings being outside tending their pack horse. The Dook and his Posse, hidden in the surrounding rocks, call on them to surrender. With frightening alacrity Snake Eyed Pete's young underling gets a stick of dynamite, lights it and throws it at The Dook. The Dook, being The Dook, takes aim with his Winchester and explodes the dynamite in mid air, this kinda starts the ball!
Snake Eyed Pete and his scumbags know if they can hold out till dusk they can sneak off by a secret trail through the rocks... battle is joined with the more numerous Posse getting the edge. Several scumbags are wounded in the derelict ranch house and three of the Posse enter to effect an arrest. remember the young underling with the pack horse and dynamite? With a perfectly executed lob he sends a stick right down the chimney of the derelict ranch house, the resultant boom killing everybody inside. This brings the undivided attention of the Posse upon the young underling and they close in all guns blazing... not the brightest of ideas when a baddy's using a horse full of dynamite as cover. There's another, even louder boom, and of the young underling, pack horse and dim witted Posse there's left nary a thing!
All this time The Dook and Snake Eyed Pete have been duelling Winchesters. The Dook finally loosing site of his target as the evening's shadows lengthen. Snake Eyed Pete cogitates grimly as he slithers away up the secret trail from the hideout...
"Just wot was the name, of the young underthing, out there toting the dynamite!!!???"
;)

Or you could "open with" and select Paint. Then click on the "resize" icon at the top. select "pixels" and enter the size as given above. Then "save as" the original file name but add "resized".

Attempt No. 7 (to load a piccy)
-
No 7 = another failure, drat!!!!
-
Last try tonight
-
I can see them, but you've only load the black/white versions.
-
Well, they look very in period! ;)
Great set-up and well worth the wait!
-
I was just jokin'. :D I'm sure he meant them to be b/w. lol
-
Well worth the struggle has.been, exactly how a Cowboy town should look!
:-*
-
Let's try this piccy thing again. Thanks guys for your advice, couldn't have even got this far without your help.
-
We'll it was worth all the pain and anxiety. Lovely job :o :o
-
Certainly is, the wagons and stagecoach, set the splendid buildings off... splendidly!
:-*
-
Here's a couple more of has.been's creations we used for the 'Posse and Devil's Hole' scenario described above...
:)
-
Has.Been, they look just as good in colour. Makes me want to stop by with a load for Woo's Laundry and then mosey on down to the local watering hole. Has "splendid" been used too often?
Harry, magnificent as usual. Must say I'm intrigued by the numbered cards along the edge - is that from the scenario? something your fevered brain has cooked up? Do tell.
-
It's for the scenario, there can be up to 10 moves till night falls, then the baddies can sneak away up a secret trail.
:)
-
Thanks everyone for your nice comments.
The latest buildings are up for sale (are you listening Harry? Just the thing to fill out your Wild Western collection.)
-
Wot them in the piccys, are the wagons and stagecoach for sale too?
:-*
-
Stage coach = yes Wagons = No
Are you interested in the 'complete my Western Town' package?
Have you decided what you want in Boot Hill?
-
Has.been, great looking buildings and well done getting pics on the screen.
That looks like a came you played whilst I was away ?
Someone tells me that they would have stampeded the cattle thro town, if they knew there was going to be trouble ahead lol
-
Yes Flatpack, JC was far too worried about animal welfare (his cattle) than Dice Master, who played to his strengths (is the enemy still breathing? If yes...shoot & shoot again.) High spots were when the cattle did stampede (random artillery dice for direction & speed) which led to:-
several chasing the widow Tomkins into the Sheriff's office (Sheriff had diplomatically already 'Gone fishing');
trampling several of JC's cattlemen (That's gratitude for you!) and
staff of the Chinese laundry trying to close the yard gates in the face of angry cows.
-
A cattle stampede, now that's summat I never thought of! Not that I'd consider going through the agg of painting up a herd of 'em.....
Incidentally has.been, just out of interest, where did you glean that herd of Longhorns?
::)
-
Honest the herd wern't rustled.
In fact the herd just sort of grew while in the lead mountain. It too is up for sale, as more have joined the lead mountain.
That was the fault of Grubby Tanks, who has the old Britannia range, I wanted Buffalo, he hadn't got them with him, but showed me the cattle. Two seconds later it was a case of...'Ooooh Shinnnney!!!!!'
-
Great pictures!
-
Meet Dead Man's Gulch's Doctor. Doc Hostetler is the Gulcher's physician, bullet wounds a speciality, as he's had a lot of practice! The Doc's only failing is his love of rotgut whisky which can oft effect his probings. Here he is out and about as Marshal Snake Eyed Pete and his Deputy call on Sheriff Dick...
;)
-
One of Has.been's buildings next to an expensive laser cut model... I know which of the two I prefer...
:-*
-
Not every snake in the Gulch has two legs...
:o
-

:-*
The scratchbuilt gritty building looks much more "Wild West" than the clean, unrealistic-looking and expensive one IMHO! ;)
BTW: that's a really nice looking town, Mister, CONGRATULATIONS! :-*
-
Thanks D, can't take any of the credit, they're all Has.been's buildings... the piccys don't do 'em justice they're lovely models.
:-*

What about MORE PICTURES of them?! ;)

Last week there was an attempted jailbreak in Dead Man's Gulch while Marshal Snake Eyed Pete was out a'visitin'. Luckily he'd, left Old Stumpy in the jail with his scattergun, the mad old critter did for three desperadoes and also shot the prisoner fer good measure. While all this was going on Pedro and his bunch of border trash scumbags snuck into town and robbed the bank, wounding Dolores Trollope who was depositing a weeks takings, from her house of fun.
The Marshal and his posse have trailed Pedro to Aqua Verde, the cronies of the three desperadoes have shown up, looking for the loot. Dolores has been flat on her back all week motivating the posse... so the scene's set for a reckonin'!
