Post by: flags_of_war on June 07, 2017, 10:15:44 AM

Saw pics of some production proofs on Random platypus  (http://www.randomplatypus.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=3227) and the detail looked very soft, and the fact that they only show renders on their order page does not give me any confidence that the production minis will be much better, shame cause the sculpts look like they could be alright

The proofs are certainly not the worse i have ever seen. I think they look pretty good and certainly paintable.

It looks interesting, the detail on the minis' faces is a little soft, but far from the worst I've seen.
Inkpaduta - it's up for pre-order now, with a release in November.

I can't believe I'm saying this, but I'm gonna pass. Big Trouble is my favorite movie of all time, but I think I have or can get all the lead I need to play my own game.

Do Studio Miniatures not do 'not' Big Trouble minis? These look a little soft on detail. You've got to think these are the masters as well!

They have some of the figures. These are quiet soft but to be honest im also buying it for the game. Most board games are like this, but i have seen some painters do great work with them. After playing Conan ive been given a buzz about miniature board games.

Simply one of my favourite films, like most of the Carpenter/Russell movies. I'm willing to take a chance on it.

Anyone played other games using the "Legendary" system this is based on? Impressions? How would it play with 1 or 2 players?

I have, but this isn't the Legendary game. Legendary is a deck builder card game, I have the Aliens version and it does scale based on the number of players, not sure about solo though.  ;) Also the artwork for the Legendary Big Trouble In Little China game is pretty variable...

This version is a full on board game with minis which are unfortunately not very good. Well they might have been good but they've been produced in melted plastic for some reason. True that it's a board game and they're just "board game pieces" but at $100 you're paying for the minis. :(

I had to cancel my order. Doubt ill ever play the game and the pre order doesn't give anything worth while like some kick starters. The minis were starting to play on me too. Maybe ill pick it up later in my FLGS.

Okay,

Just watched the movie twice in three days.
I am interested. But, I do not do kickstarters
so will wait until the game comes out. Come on
November!

I'd say this isn't even as good as kick starter. It is a pre order and you don't get a thank you for taking part :P

True. I hadn't thought of that.
