Here is a link to some pictures of my, for now, finished Genestealer cult forces. I'll probably buy another box of Neophyte Hybrids today to bulk out those units and I need to dig out my Space Hulk box to find the other Genestealers I have.
You can see all of them with commentary here:

But here are a few teaser pictures:

They look great. :)
-
Very nice. Real quality.
-
I really need to get those models. Excellent work :)
-
Nice.
That brute looks scary.
I echo Predatorpt...
-
Thanks guys. I'm glad they are finally at a point where I can consider them an "army."
I went to get that box of Neophyte hybrids, but my FLGS was out so I had to walk home with a box of Acolyte hybrids instead. I'm going to put them together today. I'm visiting a friend in Richmond and he is at work today so that is the plan. I'm also going to walk down to the local Warhammer store around 11 to see if anyone there wants to play Shadow War with them or, if they aren't busy, if the store manager will take them on and show me how they play in 8th edition.

Nice minis, Pictor! I myself am also a big fan of the four armed Emperor and still have the Deathwatch box, largely unpainted though.
Currently I field a 15mm force, which I have presented here in another thread. They may be small, but they are as evil as their big cousins :)

Those are sweet!
You did a great job of catching the whole cult vibe with those figures I especially like the cars. I need to get some cars for my army.
-
That is a good looking cult.
I've always wanted to put together a Genestealer Cult... *sigh* Maybe someday! Until then, I'll just have to look at cool ones like yours, with envy!
-
Nice looking cult! The pale skin really shows off their subterranean lifestyle and the scenery is plenty sweet to boot!
-
I don't know what the barrier is to outing your cult together but this has been a relatively cheap army for me. With the deathwatch overkill box set you are out only$160. The neophytes are $40 a box. With that you would have what I have pictured here.
If that is too much you could consider putting together a force for SW:A. Then you really only need a box of the neophytes to have a very decent force.
-
Excellent work!
My box of Neophyte's is looking at me, begging to be assembled into a Shadow War force, but I've got other, more pressing projects.

Heh, I've got enough of the old metal miniatures to make an entire cult, the trick is finding the time and energy to paint them!
-
That problem I can help you with. :)
My other projects got shelved in favour of the SW:A Genestealer force but then the whole thing turned into a much bigger project with the announcements about 8th and Primaris marines and so forth. all the HH stuff got pushed aside for now. Although I did finish another Thousand Son and three more Space Wolves since then.

Very nice cult here Pictors Studio
It would be sad if anything happened to it..

But on a serious note I have to ask how did you do concrete base with that epic hole ?
-
Lowe's has these project panels, they are 2x2' insulation foam pieces. I used a saw to cut the grooves in it and then an box cutter to cut out the holes. I still need to put straws and guitar strings in to make the piles and stuff.
Did you see the pics of it in action from a few weeks ago?
-
I missed that.
Are those panels made from XPS ?
-
Yes they are if I understand what that is. We call it insulation foam, the pink and blue stuff.
Here are pics:

Extruded not expanded styrene.
-
Thats the problem with translating brand and common names of the hobby product from English speaking world to mine :P
Thats why i prefer chemical names of the compounds.
If I got this right pinkfoam is XPS. Color itself is producer dependant and not an innate quality of the material itself.
-
Chemical names would not help, both are Poly(1-phenylethene).
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Polystyrene (https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Polystyrene)
-
But the proces of expansion and extruding is quite distinct.

But the proces of expansion and extruding is quite distinct.
It is, expanded polystyrene (EPS) and extruded polystyrene (XPS).
Styrofoam is a fun exception, as a trademark it is XPS, but in common North American it is the EPS you make cups out of.
-
EPS is stuff all blocks around were thermally isolated, it was everywhere, but XPS is much more difficult to get and its much more interesting as modeling material.

Here are the last of the Cultists I have here, the Acolytes:
10 of these guys were already done. I just finished up the last 7 over the last few days.
This is the stuff from the DW:O boxed set plus one box of Acoylte Hybrids. I put them together with all the heavy mining tool options so I had them all but because of how many I have I can only use three out of the four of them. Right now they are set up for pictures with two squads of 8 but I suppose they will have to be fielded as a squad of 10 and a squad of 5 or one squad of 15.
Eventually I suppose I'll get another box to round them out to 20.

Hopefully these guys will be going into battle against my brand new Primaris Space Marine force tomorrow. I have four of those guys done and another 4 nearly finished.
-
Very good.
-
Agree.. And noticeably evil (which is a thing a lot of these model seen on the net miss completely under the paint!)
-
Here they are in their second action against Ultramarines in 8th edition.

Nice. Love your terrain. The Primaris boys look proper bulky there.
-
They do look appropriately large don't they. They look like they could really take the fight to those cultists without much problem. The Aberrants looked a match for them as did the Acolytes, more or less, but it was great how it worked out in game with the marines pretty much taking on a bunch of GCS guys and smacking them around pretty well.
-
So I guess poor Cult was stomped under Imperial heel ? :(
-
They were ultimately, but they gave almost as good as they got. Both Lt.s were down at the end. The hellblaster squad was taken out and both marine squads were down to 60%. So out of 17 marines only 6 were standing at the end.
-
One opposing the Imperium has to cherish little things :)
-
Great job on the cult and on the scenery! :-*
