Interesting amalgam.
My guess is Perry Mahdists and Bolt Action Soviets.
Interested to see them painted.

Thanks!
Yes, with some additional bits from WF celts and Mantic undead.
-
Very unique conversions. Well done.
-

Fantastic!!
The guy with the Panzerfaust is my favorite.
He's going to give somebody's armored car/light armor a warm welcome.

Hmm... I suppose, it can kill even Centurion/T-55/62 or what else an african militia can meet...

More angry and armed citizens join the fray...

Thank you!!!
Trying to get something interesting by mixing parts of my lead (in fact plastic) pile :D
-
Some lovely conversion/kitbashing going on here.
:-* :-*
My favourite is wrong 'un with the petrol can.

These are great! It's amazing how some well painted models can make you want to start up gaming in a new setting/period. Thanks for sharing.
-
Very nice. I fancy nicking that camo - what colours did you use for it, if you don't mind sharing?
-
Thanks again :)

I've read that "recipe" of WWII german camo in my first WI magazine many years ago.
1. Base is painted with Khemri brown (or any dry earth color like that), highlited with small addition of white.
2. Then roughly 1/3 of the cloak is painted with Chocolate brown in curvy but sharp vertical lines.
3. After that I add small patches of rich green color - they always should intersect with brown lines.
4. And finally I paint "Z"-pattern lines with Ivory (or any yellowish bone pale color) in every space free of camo patches.

Modern approach to the traditional african warfare.

I love them.
But the anti-armor guy with the panzerfausts and shield is my favorite.
I'm sure he feels totally safe hiding behind it while engaging his target. ;D
-
Love the spider tattoo!
(& thanks for the recipe)
-
Wonderful additions!

They don't call it "shield" for nothing :D
Now, our brave and cunning leaders:warlord and a witchdoctor.

-
For a minute I thought this was turning into a Frostgrave warband lol
-
Better call it Hotgrave :D
Well, witchdoctors are rather common characters in many settings...
-
Superb work.
-
Nice idea. :)

The guy on the left is my absolute favourite!
Great PA figure as well!
-
Simply fantastic stuff mate. Keep it up, I can't wait to see more... maybe even a cheeky vehicle or 2? :)
-
Thank you...
Well... maybe their arsenal will include some simple machinery :)
And here are painted leaders of tribal militia:

That is very nice.
You might want to add a splash plate across the glacis (I assume it is there to stop water splashing up into the driver's hatch). It is a very popular post war addition.
The skirts look good.
You might want to add a heavy machine gun, either an M2 or a Dshk depending on your backstory. Yugoslav T34s provide some examples.
There are photographs of some UK museum examples here:

Well, that's an excellent idea! Will try it!
-
Excellent figures, reminds me of a documentary I watched once of African tribesmen with AK,s that were involved in cattle raiding with neighbouring tribes.
-
Love it.
The 10th photo in this bbc article instantly reminded me of your warband http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/in-pictures-40722805
Maybe inspiration for a new member? 😉
