This started life as my entry for this years build something comp.Unfortunately work got in the way and this is the point I had to drop out of the competition at.So now I'm looking for the motivation to actually finish painting the outside over the next two to three weeks.
Hence posting at this stage (otherwise I'll get side-tracked and it'll just gather dust).

That Richter scale spike just now?
That was my jaw hitting the floor. Stupendous job, my good sir, must be the envy of all upstanding ether engineers.
Can I have two?

:o :o
Bloody hell!
That is a bit good, that is.
:-* :-* :-*

So, this is what it's like to be gob-smacked. Well, now I know.
Damn, man, so PRETTY.
Do you consider this a 'cousin' to the Duke of York?

Looking forward to seeing this progress :-* :-* :-* :-* :-* :-*

Definitely chuffed you all like it. I did hesitate posting a new topic,as it was a drop out piece not a new project
Doug,
It'd be fairer of me to class it as back stairs cousin rather than a full blooded relation.
As its much too small, and unarmed. Its only got eleven rooms including the corridor, and air lock.
if I'm honest the images of the Duke of York don't quite work for me. So I jusy worked from the old line drawings and power ratios in the original 1889 rules(on account of them being the ones I have.)

Obviously, works for me. :D

Good grief sir! If all those cereal packets were from..... Wheetabix !!!!!!
You must regularly have THREE at a time !!!!!!!
Heaven help the rest of the world!
Fantastic stuff you are making. I too want to see it painted.

It's a little to hot to paint today.
So here's a little insight into,or rather the inspiration for the colour scheme .

So, the upper color down to the 'overhang' that ends in the wing ornamentation?
Again, works for me!

Ouch! We're not unused to such temps here mid-US, but it's been a bit early, to my way of thinking.
My sympathies!

Is that a red waterline just peaking in the photo? Are you going to do that too?
Duke of York? Should it not be BoatyMcboatFace?.....or EtherFlyerMcetherFlyerFace?

We'll I've managed to get the base coats on,and that's about it.
As for the limits of each I'm still in two minds. Either to have the Tan colour stop at and included the horizontal rivet strip above the portholes ,or continue it down to the middle rib/rivet strip.
( I'll knock up a couple of drawing to see which works )
As for the water line definitely,it will be on the middle rivet strip. The top1/5th (ish) being white and the lower portion of the strip being red.
The lower hull and underside will be a darker grey.
I think if I did it a red lead. It'd probably end up looking like it should be in a dry dock. Also there's alot of red in the merchant pannels.
It's going to be brightened up with the navigation pannels and heraldry, so the rest of the ship can look a little more drab.
After putting it together its more.
