Title: Custom Dropfleet Commander UCM battlecruiser kitbash
Post by: Hobby Services on July 01, 2017, 09:25:40 PM
They've finally announced the upcoming release of the battlecruiser minis for Dropfleet Commander, but I'm tired of waiting and I sure ain't paying ebay prices for the Kickstarter exclusive variant sculpts. So here's a kitbashed version of the UCM Atlantis/Johannesburg class I like to call the Lemuria:

Looks good.
I've only just started Dropfleet Commander and I was wondering about a personalizing ships.

Their forum community doesn't really seem interested in conversions and homebrew stuff, at least not compared to the tournament scene and a bunch "current meta" chat.  Reminds me of the Privateer Press forums, really.  Which is not a good thing.

That said, the models mostly really lend themselves to conversions, especially weapon swaps.  Many of the space station kit parts can also be used with the ship kits which adds a lot of potential.  If the models were a little bit cheaper I'd be tempted to throw the whole idea of playing DfC with them out the window and just make/paint whatever I think looks coolest, canon be damned.
