thought people here might like to see the castings from the recent steel fist miniatures kickstarter.
They can be pre ordered at www.steelfistminiatures.com
-
Stunning figures :)
cheers
James

Looking forward to getting these little beauties.
-
Thenks :)

:o wow...have the plan to create a second rank ?
-
Great looking figures, they are top notch. :)
-
Looking forward to receiving the one's I ordered through the kickstarter, thanks for the pictures!

Working on it now :)
I'm starting sending out the pledges this week
-
I got my pledge stuff yesterday. These are absolutely superb . This is how a KS should be done . I would not hesitate to back more of these great figures
-
Superb figures. I wish you'd do some for my period, the TYW
-
£8.00 per cavalry figure ! ! !
-
They are really great looking minis. I have been tempted by them several times. But the price tag has so far saved me from myself.
I am not saying they are not worth the price. But they are priced out of my reach.

:-)
Looking forward to these...
Not sure wether Rank & Files will be commercially successfull in their price-band, but they will surely feature in the front rank of one of my units.
-
Mine arrived :)
Now I just need to adjust the project plans and the painting queue!
-
I have to say these days that for really nice figures I don't mind paying a bit of a premium price . Especially when good old GW charge £17 a pop for their deathguard figures. A couple of units is all i will have and a few foot for command stands . col Bill sell them at shows
-
I saw the painted ones on Col Bill's stand @ Devises very tempting.
I particularly like the grotesque Helms and the unusual horse armour.
-
Thanks again for the comments :)
I have now dispatched most of the pledges with the last going out tomorrow.
Thanks for everyone's continued patience.
I don't really want to get into a discussion of the prices of my miniatures again as I have explained them several times before.
But people are of course free to express their views on this here if they wish.
There will be painted pictures soon!

"I don't really want to get into a discussion of the prices of my miniatures again as I have explained them several times before."
Can someone direct me to where this explanation may be found? I'm intrigued.
-
Having bought some of the original mounted and dismounted knights, I am very impressed with the variety of heads, plumes etc supplied with each figure.

Don't know what the explanation is, but, man! The Lance Deal includes 15 different heads and 15 different plumes! Only that would justify the price tag!
I know that they aren't cheap, but I must say that I am terribly tempted. Will wait until Christmas, though. Maybe by then I will have had finished some of my ongoing projects and may start a small Pikeman's Lament skirmish band for Pavia's period.
-
In small numbers these are quite possibly the best figures currently available.
I buy pike in units of 72 figures and tend to buy cavalry in batches of 32+. Consequently these are quite beyond my raw lead budget. Not a criticism of pricing, merely a fact. Better bang, good solid wargaming bang for my buck can be found elsewhere.
Again, sadly, I will pass.

Alright for you, at least they would get justice at the hands of your paintbrush. My daubings will likely obscure all the lovely detail...

If anyone wants to know how I paint them there are some tutorial videos on the steel fist miniatures Facebook page.

Hopefully I can see those.
Received the figures for this kickstarter ... I purchased the original 3 sets, plus the set of 6 pikemen. Excellent figures!
I hope to see more infantry in the future.
-
Hi,
When will the Landsknecht be available, they are marked for preorder on your website, they superb.

Very nice.
I was looking over all the blister packs in the Col. Bill's office the other day and discussing with Stu the painting of armour and colours ... But he's got me slaving away on your Samurai figures for his display stand, not that I mind since they're a pleasure to paint.
Good stuff :)

Glad you like them, I'm working on more pike at the moment.

So tempted... :-*
-
These look absolutely tremendous. Some of the best 28mm figures I've seen.
-
I love the knights! What is the best way to paint blackened armour? Just a black wash over steel? Or is it actually black?
-
Those are just beautiful. They're the best figures of their type ever. Do I need another period though ??? Of course I do......
-
I know these are expensive but Simon has reduced them so that the cavalry are £6.00 each if bought in pairs or £5.00 each if you buy six.
Infantry are £7.50 for four which is fairly normal for good metal figures.
-
They look awesome. They are definitely on the need list.

I paint it in black; then I make some highlights using a graphite pencil (hard better than soft). I finish with a layer of clear varnish. The results are pleasant. You must be careful if you have other parts already painted, as the dust from the graphite can make them dirty.

Hi
I've held off updating this post until I have restocked (which I have today) - so we now have 7 Landsknecht packs to offer, sculpted by Oliver.
All the codes have 4 different poses and 4 different separate heads, to maximise build options.
We also have some weapons, heads pack and flags.
They can be obtained via the website: https://www.steelfistminiatures.com
Here are a few pics to hopefully wet the appetite.

This is first release and we'll be adding to both the Italian Wars range and more Landsknechts this year.
Many thanks
Simon
