Title: Alatriste figures or Thirty Years War Spaniards?
Post by: Tsune on March 24, 2009, 06:56:19 PM
Hi!

I am planning to play some Gloire games, and I would like to do it in the mid-17th century Spain (think Alatriste), but I am not able to find 28mm figures of spaniards.

I am not an expert in this era, so I do not know if the German or Musketeer miniatures are suitable to represent the spaniars. I have looked at TAG miniatures for their TYW range and they are beautiful miniatures, but I do not know if are suitable, and the Brigade Games musketeer seem too "neat",as I am thinking more in veterans, bandits, guards, citizens, etc for the streets of a decadent and poor Madrid, and not only soldiers or noblemen...

Any ideas?

Thanks and regards

there was a thread on this forum about a year ago (or more) of a spanish company working on some alatriste figures. you should be able to find it again. Don't know what ever came of it though.

Yes, I saw it, but there are not any news from almost a year now. I visited their webpage but there is nothing but the main page and sadly there is not information about the miniatures or the game...
