It is time to organize our threads. We open this one to talk about our second Kickstarter.

Afther our Reichguard knights project is the time for something new, our High Elves, called The Elven Lords.
We are working in our second kickstarter. Two regiments and two foot characters it will be the beggining. Right now we can show you our Spearmen!

The model looks great with some very sharp detail. The design though is really disappointing. It looks pretty much like every other GW-styled High Elf on the market, even down to the plate breastplate, long kite shield and the tall helmet. Really can't get excited about it...

I thought the opposite about the design, it's a really nice take on a common concept. The armour styling, the cloak and especially the curved shield are all very nice touches and the result looks really interesting.
Unfortunately I've never had any interest in playing Elves so I'm going to have to pass. But good luck.

MaxRomek, I am sorry if you are disappointing with the design. We have designed elfs that you can use with another High Elves army. Besides we have added our own details. Honestly the look much like LOTR elves thant Warhammer Elves.

Hitman, as soon as we got a scale test, we will upload images. We are designed 32mm figures, LOTR are 28mm... anyway we will take any picture next to a LOTR model for you ;)
Malebolgia, our elves are multipose figures, so, this pose one is only a example ;)
Maxromek, LOTR is one of our referents, no the only one. Finally we have a mix of to many resources.

They look good!
Though that spearman looks a bit 'stout' maybe, not as slender as the artwork. At the very least, don't you think he'd look better with a longer spear?

The short spear and it's large tip/blade are for slashing, not for stabbing. So if you're meaning to rank them up the spears should be longer ( about 1,5 times the height of the elf, at least ) with a mucht smaller tip. If not, you should change the shield design into something more short and "workable" in a 1 on 1 combat situation. But hey, it's fantasy and if you feel it looks good, go ahead with it.
But I like the design of both the elves, armour is tidy and archaic, nothing wrong with that :).

Everybody like longer and slimmer spears, but we must think about production too. Anyway I hope the way that we see spears will change when we got the figures in our hands.

I quite like the look of these elves as they fit (well almost) with my idea of Tolkien's elves. Now if their size and proportions fit with my GW LOTR collection I would consider them.

Probably better to scale them the same as Warhammer elves, to maximise potential sales.
I like them, will keep an eye out for the kickstarter.

They look quite nice, and would be a good fit for Kings of War.

I've been looking for some good elves to use, and these look great.
What I hate in most elves are the skirts that people seem fascinated to give them, both GW and LOTR. Elves are quicker and more athletic than humans, they would not hamper themselves with heavy armor and clothing that would be cumbersome.
These guys make a nice balance.
Now I'm just worried about the scale. I mainly am looking for guys a bit bigger than LOTR but not the larger end of the 32mm scale. 28mm heroic or true scale is what I'm looking for.
Will these guys be resin, metal or plastic?????

Not very keen, I am afraid. They lack dynamic, interesting poses. These could be used as chess pieces.

Hi Beefcake.
This project gonna be like Reichguard. Infantry will be casted in plastic resin and characters in metal.
Plastic resin is a material soft enough to can be blended, so it is not common break spears, or thin pieces.

We are really sorry to say that we have canceled our Kickstarter. We weren't getting good result. All our money is invested in that project, so we going to rebuilt it again and launch again in a few weeks.

We are still working in our Elven Lords. Last days we have crafted 100 models to check our production molds.
Nowadays we are painting, and we are not sure with the color of the helmets hears.

I really like these sculpts. They have a look of the PJ lord of the rings films without being a dead copy. I think these will see alot of use alongside the northstar dwarves in oathmark and dragon rampant.
I look forward to seeing you restart the campaign and doing well...

"All our money is invested in that project" isn't this exactly the kind of risk that kickstarter was meant to remove ?
Has it got to a point that backers expect every campaign to basically be a finished polished product and as such creators can't risk a slow opening weekend ?
Do people now only back projects that meet their funding goals in the first day ?
Are creators basically back at square one in terms of financial risk, having to spend vast amounts in order to get a sleek enough looking campaign, by which point they're essentially being forced to run the same kind of kickstarter pre order system that many of us have complained abou bigger companies running?
This isn't aimed at you guys or your idea.I completely understand that in order to produce prototypes of a plastic kit you need to invest ALOT of money for tooling/sculpting/artwork ect ect.
But if kickstarter is no longer a platform for creators to come along with a few drawings, a good idea and a desire to see their ideas through, then has kickstarter finally just become another shop, only this shop demands not only investment, but adds a time limit to the stresses of selling products?

Valid question - and yes, it's true that KS still works in the intended way in some fields (Art mostly), but CMON and the likes have turned the tabletop part into a massive pre-order system.
This, and the sheer mass of live projects makes it next to impossible to just sell an idea.
KS might be a shop, but it's also a publisher that allows me to offer my stuff at very modest rates next to the stuff of a multimillion dollar biz.

Nic-e, I gonna try to answerer to you in english, to me is not easy.
Kickstaster is a great plataform, it is true. It is designed for people who needs money invested in their ideas, and they can get the money from the backers.
But according with our experiences, when you launch a wargaming on kickstarters, nobody likes wait six monts or more, even if they know that before to support any project. What happen finally? Backers recieve their items, but the supporting experiences is not 100% good, because they have been waiting for a long time.
Experience shows how pre order sistem fit really well with most of wargaming projects. Maybe we are moving out of kickstarter soul, but we must to pay attencion to the market.
Now for example, our first kickstarter. We spent more than one year only fighting with the sculpter for have done the greens. Then we searched a manufacturer who make the molds and craft the figures. At the beggining looks easy, everybody say yes, but then, they are so busy and it will be take ages before even they start with your project.
Pricing and cost is another problem. Your project cost grows faster than a bill in a pub!
One year and a half leater you are nearly ready to launch your first kickstarter, but you have been paying bills since you star so... at the end nobody can support your idea, because nobody support a wargaming project if they can see something, at least a 3D model... nobody belive in a idea, they belive in a 3d models, a green, etc.
Finally you will realise that is better only do the project if you can pay for it before the kickstarter and then do a pre order to sell it.
When somebody is supporting us, they are not investing in our project, they are investing in our following project, and they don't know nothing about it!
According with our experience, everybody likes support a campaing and get the figures in one or two monts at home.
If we can't get back money enought with our Elven lords, we wont be able to invest in our following kickstarter.

Agreed, with few notable exceptions KS pledges drop noticeably over the Christmas period.
If the campaign is still as important as you mentioned before, do not run it until after the holiday season.

Then again - I was running the most successful of my campaigns around Christmas. Maybe it was the absence of all the big names around that time?

Once again, they look awesome.
However, the average wargamer is looking at 35-40 USD for a regiment of 20.
When a small Spanish company like mom miniaturas can offer 20 resin dwarves of comparable quality, these are not the price range they should be. Yes I am taking into account the multipart nature and posabillity. Unfortunately that option does not always translate to higher market price because wargamers take such options for granted with plastic kits.

As you said, Elven Lords infantry miniatures are multi-pose. Besides you can mix all pieces among them. Futhermore we manufacture with plastic resin, to much ressitant that polyurethane resin. There are a few elements who make this miniatures expensive to manufacture.
You has mencionated Mon Miniatures, I would like to make you a question, have you ever buy them?
If you do, and you think that our products can be comparate togheter, it is ok.
If you never have done, please, do it and then let us know your opinion ;)

2. You do not want to have a reasoned discussion about comparisons in quality and material done by two companies in the same small niche market, hailing from the same general geographic area?
I'm sorry what? As a consumer, comparison and discussion go hand in hand. How can you deny that we should discuss your products in a comparative way to other similar products on the market.
3. Last, but most definitely not least, you use plastic resin. Resin, in an of itself, is an inexpensive material. Hence why Miniatures from other manufacturers are less expensive than what you are trying to produce for the price you are asking.
Here is a more mainstream Example:
Mantic basilean paladin regiment. 20 multipart Miniatures made of plastic resin. 27.49 euro.
Less posabillity without conversion, but good quality on detail and same family of material.
Your elven lords: 20+1 Miniatures for 55 euro. Not counting the plus one because it is listed as a free extra.
Same number of Miniatures, same family of material. Slightly better quality detail. More poseable in nature. Double the cost.
Let me repeat that. Double the cost. For marginally better quality and pose options.
How do those relatively small upsides make the unit twice the cost?

I would like to explain to you why I do not want to have a fridenly discuss about other companies. It is easy, because now we are one of them. I don not mind if players and customers have any discuss, honestly I like when that happend. Althoguh we offer all help if someone ask for it to talk about our miniatures. Even, we have sent some models, to people who ask for them, just to know the material, size, manufacturing... So, no we are here no to discuss, we are here to offer our productos and all information that people could need.
I am sorry to tell you that polyurethane resin and plastic resin is not the same material. Cost and manufacture process are different. Our manufacturer have spent more than one year testing to find the right formule for our miniatures. Miniature production cost, is not only resin grams, there are a lot of element who sum.
I sure that you now GamesWorkshop plastic resin. It is different than Mantic resin, equal as our resin is different to the other ones.
To me is not really good if you do not think that our products deserve higher prices than others companies. But I would like tell you, that we haven spent more that two years developing LastSword Miniatures. From the beggining until today we have no take any money out from the companie. Even I had been working aboard, far from my partner, my family and my friends, to get money. All this money has been invested in LastSword Miniatures.
Even now, I we have a big success with our Kickstarter campaing, all the money will go straight to the following campaign.
So, we are no more "expensive" because we would like to become richmen. That is the price that people have to pay if they want to find something new in the market.
Remember that a company is its, process, products and all people who make it possible.

What im getting from this is that you are near commercial production, and are using Kickstarter to back fill expenses imposed by hiring a production company/factory.
I also see that you are unwilling to have friendly discussion about the merits of a product you are trying to promote.

I have just pledged for some minis, because I like the design and scale (fits to WHFB), even if the price per mini is a bit above my usual limit.
Compared to the first try the KS campaign now looks to me like it should including some nice examples of the painted product. :)
The material is hopefully up to the job.

what Mantic calls "plastic resin" is actually PVC plastic, absolutly not resin
I'm not sure what lastsword production is like, but they said polyurethane resin (vaccuum? spincast?, with plastic filler?) but it's a lot more expensive to produce than pvc ;) (once you have paid the moulds)
you really can't compare the 2 regarding cost, although I get why as a player you would compare the price you pay for a regiment

Hi guys,
Firstly I would like to say sorry. It been a long time out from here but we are living bad times. Ulrich is in hospital for a surgery and a relative has passed away so... we can not be 100% focus on that.
As we said on Kickstarter, orders will be delayed, anyway we hope be able to send all parcels in March.
We have some deadleines to announce:
- The 9th of February Kickstarter and Late Pledge orders to be taken at Hispania Wargames 2018 show, must be done please.
- The 24th and 25th of February Lastsword will be at Hispania Wargames 2018 show with a stand. You will get all our products and a few ammount of Elven Lords going to be offer there.
- The 6th or March we gonna close Kickstarter and Late Pledge, so it won't be able to place new orders. Then we will be doing and sending parcels.
Little by little we gonna take back the blog and publish new articles.

I think these figures are fabulous. These are the best elf faces and helmets I have seen. Unfortunately I am going for a very traditional Tolkien/First Age look - Elves wearing mail. Still, I would think there are many gamers who will find a place for these. Good luck.

I really admire what you're doing, even if I don't do Fantasy myself anymore. I did collect High Elves back in my younger Warhammer days though, so find this very interesting! The painted examples are really high quality. I hope you sell plenty of them!

In the Undead campaign is the troubador figure separate from the cross or is it a one piece casting?

Is one piece casting, but plasti resin can be cutted with a sharp knive. I am not sure if you want the troubadour or the cross, but you will get them in two pieces with out to much work.
