The first figures finished for my 6mm Sudan project. These are a couple of mounted scouts for my British Camel Corps from Baccus miniatures.
-
Very good job on those mini-minis! Eager to see the main bulk of the army!
-
Too good. Can't wait to see more. Did you miss the highlight on that left hand? ;D

lol No, it must be the lighting!
-
Man I wish I could paint like that.
-
They rather put me in mind of Michael Bentine's Potty Time. lol
But hell, that's some top skillage on display there.
-
Those are the oddest camels I've ever seen!
-
Steve, your poor old eyes... lol
This is going to be good though... 8)

Thanks for the comments guys....
@DintheDin
It's not a very large army, at least to start with. It'll be a camel corps patrol for Peter Pig's - Patrols in the Sudan.
@Svennn
Damn, I missed that. :-)

In any case, your painting is so neat (and the highlights too :) ) for such a scale, it's really worth to continue!
-
Here's the first of my Camel Corps units....
-
They're nice Deano!
:-*
-
Very beautiful! :-* :-* :-*
Eagle's eye and an accurate brush! Congrats!
-
Just marvelous :-* :-* Missed another hand I see - only kidding :D
Don't suppose you don't fancy doing me a set in exchange for ten bob and a bag of conkers
-
Lovely :-* always wanted to get into 6mm this might push me over the edge :)
-
Fantastic Steve :-*
-
Thanks for all the comments guys.
Here's the same unit dismounted.....
-
Oooh! Things are getting better and better! :-*
They are perfect! Keep'em coming!
-
Amazing little munchkins...
I remember when 25mm Minifigs looked a lot like that ;)
-
They look so cute. They make you go awwwwww...
(Possibly not the reaction they'd want, mind.)
-
They're some of the most impressive 6mm paintjobs I've ever seen. Lovely work.
-
The second unit of 6mm Camel Corps is done. Here's a pics of both units together. Figures from Baccus.
-
The lower scale I've ever painted was 10mm, but now I may change my mind ;)
Well done! :o
-
The 2nd dismounted Camel Corps unit is done. Here's both units together. Next will be a couple of Naval Gardner guns, when they arrive from Baccus.
-
Okay, for those who've been around a while (or a long while, like me), we know Mr. Dean is one of the most talented miniatures painters on the planet - and has been for a long time.
But this quality in 6 mm!?
Man, how do you control the brush while holding the minis under the tube of your microscope?! lol
Exceptional.
I'll bet his scroll work on the Mahdi flags will be legible. But will it be a secret and perhaps roguish pun?
Does he do real art in 'real' life? Wouldn't be a bit surprised. Masterful selection of color and brush control.
-
they are so wonderful! :o
-
Amazing. I did not know about 6mms. Good work.
Well done and best wishes for the future of your project.
Respectfully,
Bill P.
-
Agree with all the compliments above. I'd love to see the Mahdists!
-
A couple of 6mm Gatling guns to help out my camel corps patrols. Figures from Baccus.
-
Lordy - they are nice.
-
Impeccable! :o
-
6mm Sudan - British Gatling guns on the move. Figures by Baccus.
That completes my Camel Corps Patrol, now to see how they play.
-
Baccus make swonderful sculpts in 6mm...
And in your hands... :o :o :o Wonderful!
-
I have a sizeable 6mm Sudan collection but the paintwork is nowhere near as good as yours. :o Seriously impressive, well done! :-*
-
O.M.G. :o Black lining belts in 6mm. I am in awe.
-
Breathtaking. I'm not sure I've ever seen 6mm look so good. If you get the chance, please share any action shots - especially of their dastardly opponents.
-
Fantastic stuff, your eye for colour, the clean style and the neatness of your paintwork are things I will never get bored of trying to emulate. Inspirational Steve :)
-
There was enough points left over to get a rifle base to escort the gatling guns...
-
Astounding. Best ever in this scale, surely :-*
-
Wow and double wow! Late to this thread and astonished at the detail you have managed to cram in to 1/300 figures. Assuming you have not been painting using a microscope, the only other plausible explanation for brushwork that good in the scale is that you must be a 1/56 scale figure yourself.
-
I'd be happy if my 15s looked as good as this. In the pic where the rider is leading the column with the camel guns, it looks like you've highlighted his beard!?
-
Never seen anything like this in my life! 6mm I am stunned... :o :-*
-
Played a game of 'Patrols in the Sudan' last week and one thing that became clear very early was the need for an extra scout for my patrol, so here he is....
-
If you could possibly post some pics of the game, it would be great! ;D
