I've got something very different for my current commission - some seriously nasty looking forest spirits.
First up are the Elves .... yup, that's right, these bad boys are Elves!

Next comes the heavy support ... an Ent.

And finally a group shot of finished models thus far, to show scale.

Wow. Those are bloody amazing!
Paintjobs are beyond praise...
Conquest Games stuff is becoming seriously interesting, too.
And there are more to come?
-
Love those Cubs. Lovely painting, and most interesting miniatures...
I can see those appearing in a few weird ECW type games... very Mythago Wood...
-
Nice

Yup yup, a couple of different troop types next.
-
I really like these, and the undead they have in the store.
And their bears are really cute :)
Cubs, do you know if they're releasing the Wealdgeist soon?
-
Very nice. Bit like the Age of Sigmar Sylvaneth sculpts, but more woody and less weird.
-
Nice :o
Very different and great paint jobs as well.
-
They are very nice minis and a great paint job too! :)
-

I wish I knew. I do know Conquest Games are going to be expanding their Fantasy ranges in the not too distant future, but other than that I'm clueless. I didn't even know they had a Fantasy range until I did the Wights if I'm honest.
-
Really nice (as ever!)
-
By the way, in case anyone's interested, the 'forest floor mulch' on the bases is made from my own mix of used, dried tea leaves and cheapo mixed herbs. You can glue it straight onto a base and when dry, give it some patches of colour and shade with paint and inks.
-
Great pj ( as usual, so I won't comment on that any more ;) ) but I really like the mounted one and the heavy support.
Original, I'll get me a few.
-
These are really nice miniatures it was only while surfing youtube today that I realised were they inspiration for these might have come from

Yeah, just a bit! They're bang on.
-
Really fantastic - love the moss and the tone of the wood, last time I tried to paint Ents they ended up almost orange instead of this great grey-brown.

Maleficient is actually a pretty great fantasy film (maybe I should say that in a quieter voice) - that battle scene has a real 'Warhammer' feel to me.
-
More additions to the Wealdgeist range -
- first up are some Dryads, avenging tree spirits in humanoid form,
(https://myalbum.com/photo/9VdWoAuEyKw8/1k0.jpg)
- and the Forest Sprites, wild children of the wood,
(https://myalbum.com/photo/93lbFo5iCh2U/1k0.jpg)
- and last but not least, the incarnation of the eternal forest and manifestation of rebirth, the Green Man.
If you're wondering how he manages to have such wonderful flowing hair, as you can see he uses a leaf-in conditioner.

-
A quick group shot, to show the Wealdgeist range (so far) and the comparative sizes.

-
Superb! They make me want to reread Mythago Wood (yet again ...).
That Green Man makes fantastic use of the medieval Green Man motif. And brilliant paintwork to bring him to life of course.
Have you seen the woses on the Gardens of Hecate blog?
-
Have you seen the woses on the Gardens of Hecate blog?
No. Are they wed woses?
EDIT: Just seen them - very nasty and superbly done.
-
I love these, and you've really done them justice! Are they as yet unreleased, or old out-of-production figures? I googled Conquest Games and found nothing like this on their website. Haven't done fantasy for years, but I really think I want to buy some of these.
-
These are very interesting figures.
Well done with the painting too :-*
-
Lovely brushwork as always and an increasingly interesting range of figures.

I think they're to be released soon. Mike at Conquest Games tells me they're looking to fill out their 'Myths of Albion' fantasy range over the next few months, so there's more to come as well.
-
The forest sprites look handy for the Game of Thrones / ASoIaF gamers. I like the look of the big fellow very much. It could be a surprisingly versatile figure; fantasy, Weird ECW as mentioned, Occult of any period and even Superheroes.
-

I'd say they're more wight woses!
-
Fantastic PJs. And I love the look of the new range. Beautiful!
-
Thanks, Cubs. I look forward to their release. :)
-
I'd say they're more wight woses!

Really love these! I've always wanted to do a forest based army, these look like just the ticket

Oh come on, how could I not.
-
I'm just going to shrub that off.
-
Great figures...That Ent is the business. :-*
-
I'm just going to shrub that off.
Took me a while to twig to that...
-
I'm confidently told these are to be released within the next couple of weeks. Woo-hoo.
-
They've put one of your pics up on their site. That's a start. :)
-
Very nice work on an interesting set of miniatures.
-
The whole range is now up on the Conquest site:
http://www.conquest-games.co.uk/index.php?cPath=41_46
As far as I can see, they're available now....
-
That was quick then, and with my pics too! Funny how posh a bent bit of paper with some spray paint can look as a backdrop!
-
Ooh 'eck, payday tomorrow as well... :D
-
Just back from SELWG where the whole range was on display and was also for sale (and some nice new Norman command figures for those who also dabble in historicals).
Got me an ent and a green man for now...will pick up the rest soon.
-
Aldyrami!
-
Bit of a thread necromancy, but here are some late additions to the Wealdgeist.
The sturdy Imp and his ivy wings.
The shaggy Boggart with nettle wings.
Spiky Spriggan.

Not the woodfolk of the Wealdgeist next, but the primitive Fenodyree goat-kin of the hills. They lurk in their craggy lairs, worshipping their bestial gods and occasionally launching savage raids on the unwary, killing or capturing their unfortunate victims. Those taken alive wish they had been killed, as the previous owner of the Shaman's ... urm, pouch ... can attest.

Brilliant - I am very tempted by these. :D
(I have too many projects at the moment so will have to wait.)
-
Very nice. Are these available yet?
-
Brilliant, I will have to get some of the Beastmen to go with the bits from the range I've already bought. Really enjoyed painting the Ent.
-

Good question, no idea. It may be that Conquest Games are literally waiting for pics of the painted models so they can put them on the website.
Mike at CG quite openly said these guys are Broo by any other name and I can see them being a good proxy in Runequest for those goaty faves.
-
Yet more good things here, splendidly painted as ever.
I may hold off on the not-broo for now, as I have a bunch of unpainted broo-like beastmen from one source or another... But I can see them being useful down the line.
Expect I'll pick up the wealdgeist soonish, though (if I ever finish painting my ent, that is).
Full marks to CG for the growing range!
-
These are gorgeous, my wood elves of old wish they could have played with these. I think a green man is in my future. Lovely natural looking paintjobs!
-
A couple more additions from Conquest Games to plump out the Wealdgeist - 4 more Elves and a handsome new Ent.

More Conquest Games mythological figures from British, Germanic and Scandinavian folklore, all in metal.
First up are the Svartalfar - literally the Dark Elves, nasty subterranean creatures much like goblins. These guys are about Halfling size.
And then the deeply disturbing Grindylows - slimy water demons with an unpleasant habit of guiding unwary travellers to their doom in swamps and snatching children from the side of dangerous pools.
-
Brilliant paintjobs!
Lovely figures too - those svart-alfar look to be straight outta The Weirdstone of Brisingamen - even down to the nose variations and the stone hammers. And that's no bad thing at all!
The best Garner svarts available to date have been the old Citadel Lesser (great) Goblins. But while they have nets, they have metal weapons. These fellows, though, are spot on.
The grindylow are great too: that's a nice little RPG encounter right there.
-

You know, sometimes the heavens align. I can't thank you enough - I've been trying to think of that story for ages now but I couldn't get more than a couple of details in my head and couldn't remember the title. I read it once as a kid and have been trying to sieve through my flimsy memory to find it ever since! Thanks for that - time to hit Kindle!
-
You're very welcome!
It's a deeply strange book - quite uneven in places, but powerful and scary too - spooky and extremely claustrophobic in places. And the ending is astonishing.
I think Alan Garner disowned it and the sequel (The Moon of Gomrath) for a while, but he wrote a third book in the series a few years ago. It's an adult novel, and it asks the question: "What would happen to a kid who underwent (or thought he underwent) an eerie supernatural adventure?". The answer? Massive psychological trauma!
The kids and I read through both Weirdstone and Moon as bedtime stories recently: they both loved them. There's loads of other great Garner stuff if you don't know it (Elidor, The Owl Service, Red Shift, etc.).
Both my kids love his Folktales - retold fairy tales from around the world, half of which were originally published in the late 60s as The Hamish Hamilton Book of Goblins. I remember it well from the public library of my childhood.
-
Didn't see those last two lots on their site, but just bought an Aldyrami army. 8)
-
Very nice work on the Svartalfar. Love the moss tones on the ents.
-
Love the Grindylows. Genuinely unsettling. Top job Cubs :-*
-
impressive paint job Cubs!.
To the point i fell in love with those miniatures. :-* :-* :-* :-* :-*
In fact i ordered a warband for my Saga Lords of Nature.
But the website seems to have some issues with papal and nobody is answering my emails :/
fingers crossed
-
I get the impression he's another one man band operation. Don't worry about not being answered on email, he takes three days to answer me as well!
-
Cool,
i rest more confident about that, then.
Partly, because i'm glad supporting little companies.
Thx for the info and, again, impressive work! :-* :-* :-* :-*
-
Received my first order today. And in a separate package came Saga: Age of Magic. A connection?? 8)
-
Are there a set of rules for this? If not, what rules will you be using?

I get a … strange magic!
Are there a set of rules for this? If not, what rules will you be using?
No rules that i know of, at least thus far. The only rules I'll be using are the 'post it back to Conquest Games and get my money' rule! These babies don't stay with me long, just long enough to get coloured in and then they go back home.
