Title: Scratchbuilding a cotton press
Post by: shandy on November 04, 2017, 08:23:15 AM
Hi,

cotton presses were imposing structures which make great objective for ACW skirmish games - after all, they were often destroyed by Union troops.

Naturally, I had to have one, so I looked for period images and started to make a quick sketch. Building the thing itself was not complicated. I also made some cotton bales out of green stuff - to my surprise, there are no models on the market!

Anyway, here's the finished cotton press:

For a more detailed report on how I built it and some more images, visit https://wargamingraft.wordpress.com/2017/11/04/building-a-cotton-press-in-15mm/ (https://wargamingraft.wordpress.com/2017/11/04/building-a-cotton-press-in-15mm/)

Cheers!

Excellent work!! :-* :-* This is exactly the kind of build that makes me come to LAF. You identified a useful and unusual terrain feature for your games, researched it, built it, painted it well, and showed it us in a nice photo. I salute you!
