I am slowly working through an army of these guys.

I thought it would be a long time before I was in the mood for 15mm again but these guys dragged me back in. For lack of a better idea I'm just basing them up for HOTT. I thought about giving Mighty Armies a try but potential opponents in the area are all about the 40mm frontage. At least with HOTT I will be able to pull something from the lead mountain, slap it on a 40x40 and there's a behemoth. I'm eyeing up a reaper manticore I've had forever. But I have alot of the dwarves to get through, gorgeous, evil, fun to paint dwarves!

You can play it in 15mm though can't you?
Besides... It's fantasy!
Just say they are evil gnomes... ;D

They look great.. nice paint job. Looks like there is plenty of nice detail on the figures. I'm just getting into the idea of 15mm fantasy figures for rpg. Looking forward to more pictures.
Btw anyone in the UK ordered from Splintered Light?

Thanks for the comments! They were really fun to paint. Next time I will put a 15mm warning in the title for you painters in a monogamous relationship with 28mm! 15mm would be fun for RPG or skirmish too I imagine Blackstone, you could do some huge terrain.

Yeah it's the size and the price which has got me interested. Looking around on the web there is a good selection of 15mm fantasy from different manufactures, even a good selection of adventurers and it seems you can buy about 10 orcs for the price of one 28mm orc.
I'm scultping a few 15mm monsters atm to see the level of detail I can get into them. I'm pretty surprised.
Like I said I was getting interested in this scale, the pictures you posted have fanned the flames so to speak :) Those dwarves are great.

I was going to moan about the detail on the models, but then I read they were 15mm! Fantastic, this is what bad dwarves should look like, none of that pointy hat rubbish!

One of the great things about 15mm fantasy is you can plunder the whole 28mm world for monsters, spirits, gods, and such. Monsters that are oversized in 25/28mm become staggeringly huge in 15mm, and regular 25/28mm figures can be used as well!
My 15mm Dwarven army has 25mm Ral Partha dwarves as gods/Major Spirits; my Orcish fire shaman summons a 28mm Reaper fire elemental that looks really freakin' scary against a 15mm army.
People who do mass combat in 28mm have my admiration, but I don't have their budget. 25/28mm is for skimishing; 15mm is for big battles.
