I have some minis from Brigade Games' WWI Western/Italian Range. Can anyone tell me how they compare in size to the figures from Great War Minis, Scarab Minis and Brigade Models?
Thanks!

From left to right:
Renegade, Brigade Games, Woodbine, Scarab, Musketeer, Great War Miniatures, Baldrick.
The Scarab miniatures seems to size up with Renegade and Great War. They do have large hands (the first thing I noticed).

I tried to post the picture but I didn't succeed.

Thanks, Drunkendwarf!

This is an invaluable picture Drunkendwarf. I hope you don't mind that I added labels. Feel free to take back your picture and put it back into your own folder.

No problem, somehow I couldn't do it.

Not trying to be critical but it helps when comparing figures that they all have the same/similar poses - all standing for example. The Brigade Games figure in that picture is the only one other than Woodbine with the legs spread far apart and will of course be slightly shorter than most when compared with marching or advancing with a shorter leg spread.

You are right, I only noticed when the picture was taken. Sorry for that.

Found this Post. Does anyone knew, if the Greatwar-Figs are the same height as the Foundry GreatWar-Figs????

Here you go. From both companies' trench mortar sets, and in almost identical poses, so a pretty fair comparison:

Not sure if the photo really conveys it, but in the hand the Foundry figure does seem much more weedy and small than the other. As always though, it depends on one's tolerance for such things. Some folks are real fussy, others mix and match all sizes.

Thank you. Foundry is too small. And too expensive....

Purely on a point of interest, I believe the figs may also have been sculpted by the same people. AFAIK, Foundry's Great War range was done by Dave Andrews and Aly Morrisson.

How would you rate the Gripping Beast figures, size wise?
Any feelings as to what are your favourite miniatures in terms of sculpting and accuracy? I'm just thinking of getting into this period.
-
Gripping Beast (eg. Woodbine) has some really nice sculpts with tremendous variety thanks to the separate heads.
They go very well with Brigade, Musketeer and Anglian. Great War is a bit taller and I wouldn't mix Woodbine with Renegade or Coppelstone.

Thank you, I can't tell you how useful this is, it will go a long way in planning my next couple of wargame armies.

As you can see, very late to the party..
But i was wondering about the miniature marked as 'Baldrick' - which manufacturer makes (made?) this mini?
Thanks!
Cheers

Scarab do one in the Whitevyper set, it's all the blackadder characters & Two Fat Lardies did one as a freebie for ore ordering their WW1 rules

Baldrick (and Blackadder) was a giveaway when Through the Mud and the Blood was first published some years ago.
I hope I have the correct ruleset; they were for sure a giveaway with a ruleset.
