After duplicating threads( just type too slow.) and the recently added thread on the reduced number of new threads I thought I'd better redeme myself and add another thread😁
Here's a quick update on my Chinese themed figures.
After Fram sent a couple sketches of figure ideas. I've got a little side tracked. First I made the league incorporating one of his ideas. Then popped off to do a little more research. As a result it dawned on me you simply couldn't anywhere in this part of the. World in the twenties and thirties without 'help' wanted or unwanted.
So I realised the league needs followers in order to keep the period feel. So I've started with some warlords cannon fodder. Then they'll need some sort of transport. A slightly battered lorry with propaganda slapped on it.
And this is as far as I've managed to get.

When's the release date?
(2018 I'll be painting more Pulp... ::) )
-
Fantastic! :-*

Very nice love the big blades, but you'd think the thieves that robbed the wheels would have at least left the truck up on blocks lol
-
Like those - how do they scale with the Copplestone BoB ones?
-
Mark,
These are very nice! I am really looking forward to getting my hands on these. The Dogmeat General is always in need of more canon fodder troops. lol

Cheers Chaps,
Orctrader.
There's no release date ,As they've not got a home yet. Not enough done to add a section to the Follies. Or even sure if I want to.
Dags.
No idea how they scale up as I don't have any of Marks to compare them with. ( Im sure he doesnt worry about scaling to mine either 😉)I decided to go the terra cotta route and make them all individuals no recycled heads
Lon.
Glad you like them as it's your thread that's motivated wider musings heading east.
Here's a few pictures of some ideas that gave 99% chance of making it to clay.

Some great pictures. That last one is interesting: Mongolia or perhaps a little farther north?
-
Some great looking future character. The current sculpts with big swords are definitely joining the Dogmeat General's Railroad Police. I can see their leadership potential from here! lol lol

Yes, those guards should blend well with the Copplestone Chinese.

T.S.G.
I don't think you should tease like this, these figures are amazing and should be available to your adoring public.
Well us anyway. ;)
The photos are very inspirational really like the car with the solid wheel hubs.
Cheers

I think that those may be Tibetans in the last picture.
-
Those are very well done. Oodles of character!

Ah yes, now that you mention it. I recall seeing some modern pictures of Tibetans with similar 'hats'.
-
They are also wearing chuba. They may be Khampa.
-
Like these dudes; Khampa of the Tibet/Sichuan border area?

I'm afraid gentleman you both out on this one. This is more likely to be involved with my mountain bandit figures.
(there'll be some serious google and Wiki hits going on now😁)

Have you found Crassus's lost legion in China? :o :o
-
Well there is a town that claims to have been founded by a legion, and its inhabitants of legionary decent. They even hold a 'Roman' festival every year . For me that kind of folklore is pure Pulp gold.

Yes, tons of potential there.
