It seems the Old West is certainly a popular destination at the moment.
:)
I may borrow that idea down the track.
I'm definitely going to be using it - has the vibe I want for my town.
Vagabond - I think they whole thing was dipped in a water/PVA mix and then put in place to dry.
It’s all Harvey’s fault with his cotton-pickin’ Fistful of lead game at BLAM.
It’s even got me putting a posse together ::)
Lovely stuff. Where did you get the trusses from?
Did you use cloth material for the canvas, I have thought about doing that but can't figure out how I would stop the threads coming out or manage to glue the material tautly given its inherent floppyness.

I’d wondered how you were going to incorporate removable roofs into your tented builds.
Nicely done. Will Cheatum's former partners Dewey and Howe be setting up shop somewhere too?
('Dewey, Cheatum and Howe' if I recall correctly, being the Three Stooges' law firm).
Beaverlick exists in the USA:

That's looking the business - may I ask who's windows and doors are you using as the are very nice ?

Thanks. They're my own, designed in Tinkercad and 3D printed.

3D printing? That’s the future... ;)
They look good, I thought they were the Antenociti ones.
Thanks. They're my own, designed in Tinkercad and 3D printed.
It’s the first use of a 3D printer that has prompted me to think “that’d be useful to be able to do for myself” 8)

Me too.
Or pay Mark to do it for me.....
;)
Looking very good Mark. :-* What’s it going to be?
Superb work, Dr De'Ath! Are you using balsa wood, staining it with inks? Looks quite realistic ...
For the fence panels I cut a quantity to length, put them in a ziplock bag with some of the 50/50 varnish/water mix, sealed it and shook it. Then I lay them on a paper towel to dry; they need a bit of a rub with the paper towel to remove the excess and separate them, but this is by far the quickest way I've found for bulk painting them. Also, by mixing the ratio of varnish to waters and/or adding inks to the mix, I can get a slightly different shade, so I've been doing three different batches then mixing them all up when dry to give be some variation in the fence.
Ah! The famous 'Dr De'Ath (Patented) Shake and Vac Method', I thought I recognised the effect.
:D
I am sure that Ronald McDonald was shot somewhere in the vicinity of that lumber yard last weekend.
;)
Does your 3D printer ever rest? :)
It's not as busy as you might think, I've still got to finish what I print out :)
You are rapidly becoming the 3D printing king of LAF.

Nice work, Doc!

Is that one of the Dirty Dirk franchises..?
;)
I want to see a nice little cafe in Beaverlick. And you can call it Felineniverous Cafe. Go on, now, I triple three-legged dog dare ya!
Finished a new building for Beaverlick Falls.
The Brothel, no self-respecting old west town should be without one.

lol lol lol
Holy Sheet!
That is not an image that anyone needs to see.
Ever!
:o :o :o
Debbie Douche turns to Sally Spreadlegs and asks, "How's the mood of the gent in the bath?" to which she replies, "Eager."
A tutorial on the decals would be nice ;)
I'm also very impressed with the signage and agree that it'd make a great tutorial.
Quite how you paint the lettering on the bags is beyond me.....
;D
That is bloody impressive. I'm also very impressed with the signage and agree that it'd make a great tutorial.
And yes, it is going to get shot to shit :D
I love what you're doing, but have you thought about putting in a fur trading station at Beaverlick Falls - could put it beside the brothel...
;)
It got robbed :o
Very badly lol

Very badly lol
Or a new robber gang lol
Tent or planks?
That's a cracking build. It'd make a great small house too.
You build your stuff like its real
Great stuff :-* :-* :-* :-* :-* :-*
That's very very good. Great texture to the wood. Did you use a wire brush?
That's a lovely little build 8)
Such a lovely office - and its soon to be lumber yard - cannot exist without an equally lovely sawmill. I submit the one at Coloma, California as inspiration (it was in the mill race of that self-same sawmill that gold was discovered and the world was changed in January of 1848 - took awhile for the news to spread and the phenomena get named Forty-niners).
Rather than provide a link, simply Google, images of Coloma sawmill. And if you are lucky enough to be there on the right day, you can even see it in operation!
Can you get figures inside the buildings, you know people will try?
Can you get figures inside the buildings, you know people will try?
Yes you can, the roofs come off :D
Hope the builder plans to add some battens to those boards! Or it's going to be drafty in there. ;)
Nice work.
Brilliant build s mate! :-* How solid are they? I take it the sides are one piece, 3D printed, they’re quite robust?
Great stuff :-* :-* :-* :-* :-* :-*
Where did the chair come from?
Dat's good, dat is. ;D
If you want a few I'm sure we can sort you some.
Another top bit of terrain. I like the unified feel you are achieving with these, they all look like they go together.
. . . the fence being essentially the same color as the lumber piles. Generally, the wood would age a different color than the fresh lumber. Easy to overcome - they just built the fence!
I 3D printed it on a resin printer.You can print out small detailed stuff like that :o :o :o :o :o :o
It's very fiddly and I wasn't having much luck with it, but James knows what he's doing with it (unlike me) so he's looking after my printer now. If you want a few I'm sure we can sort you some.
You can print out small detailed stuff like that :o :o :o :o :o :o
Thank for the offer, I am now wishing I had a need for a chair like that but I can't figure out how to fit it into any of my current projects :'(
Excellent 8)
Very tidy looking butte you have on the go there, sir.
Why thank you sir! Here's a couple more pics of my butte
Wonderful, the joins are very well concealed. ;D
What a cracking piece of terrain ...
RMZ
Nice work, it is all it was cracked up to be.
Oh my, I didn't realize your butte was so big.
lol
That's just plain salivatory. :oAre you saying you want to lick his butte?! :o
Even better with the figures in situ. Marvellous! ;D

Sublime 8)
Needs more tents though ;)
That's really impressive. It has a model railway type quality about it (which is meant as very high praise).
The texturised gaming surface works well under all that stuff - you can hardly see it ;)
I am having problems see the pics?????
Wow! I love how you spaced the two matching sized circles apart in the post - and then those precisely sized bars within each circle. A little hard to tell if the non-white portion within the circles is the same as the background color or a bit darker - but that might just be an optical delusion. Simply brilliant, mate.
Or, as you may have guessed, I can't see the pics neither. More's the drats.
lol
LAFer Dewbakuk suggested I took a few photos with some figures to indicate scale, so here they are:
I'm sure a simple "I can't see them either" would have done.
Superb; you'll be wanting a Railroad, next ... ;)
RMZ
Thanks for all the comments everyone.
Next on the cards are some more tents and a mine. The Windy Butte Mining Company are moving into Beaverlick!
And I've started on some more 'under construction' buildings. Beaverlick Falls is an expanding town, so there's always a building or two being erected.
These are some of my own 3D printed components that I plan to use to have two or three buildings in different stages of construction.
I found a screen grab of the build plate for tinker cad and think i have it figured out.... I didnt want to nag him.Just go ahead and nag him :D
Just go ahead and nag him :D
We also want some more picture of this cracking town
