I've started looking into Hail Caesar as a game for playing large mass combat games set during ancient times. I was wondering, however, if anyone has modified the game to include some mythological and/or fantasy elements. I'm liking what I'm seeing of the game, but I'd love to add a bit of magic and monster.

As far as I‘m aware Rick Priestley is tinkering with a possible fantasy version for HC. According to WG they don‘t really know yet if it‘ll get released at all.

Mr. Priestley has approved this fan-generated HC fantasy mod entitled Shadow Storm:

There is a fantasy hail Caesar yahoo group. Some interesting army lists in the files section.

I second these additions and HC is a great platform for mass fantasy battle

It could work for mythology. I had thought to include some rules that makes the games in a 'different' setting but without unbalancing the game.
What I had in mind is the general of the army would have a patron god that will bless a single unit in the army. For example Poseidon would grant a greek unit 'amphibious' whereas Melqart would give a Carthaginian unit a +1 to hit modifier. Something like that.

I think this is stuff me and a mate did a number of years ago - mainly taking the Warmaster armies and porting them to HC. the HC engine worked well with the addition of fantasy stuff.
