So I'm going back to Cancon after a 6 year hiatus. Look forward to being in hot, dusty Canberra or cold, wet Canberra. Or both. Just looking forward to going.
I'll be playing in the Tribal tournament on the Friday, and the DBA (books III & IV) tournament on the Saturday. Sunday I'll just wander around. There's going to be a few demo games.
Anyone else here going?

If you haven't been it's definitely something for every Australian wargamer's bucket list (a lot easier than going to an overseas con).
-
Haven't been for at least twenty years. Having been once and having lived in our nation's glorious capital, I can think of few things with less appeal. Do they still hold it out in some tin shed in the wilds of Bruce, somewhere that a bus runs near every four hours, if you are lucky?
That said, I hope you have an enjoyable trip. I'll be in Vietnam anyway.
-
Yes, it's in a few tin sheds at EPIC (convention centre in Mitchell). Bus is every 20 minutes from memory, but most stay in Watson and have cars, so it won't be an issue.
Shirley there's others that are going?

Armies painted and packed. Accommodation sorted.
Anyone up for a meet up on one of the days?
-
Looking forward to seeing you more often than we do in Melbourne. At least three times over the weekend, rather than once a year as it is at the shop!

Okay Nic, I'll meet up with you lol
Getting kinda excited!

Tin shed on baking heat - totally worth it

Had a great time at the show even though I didn't get to hang out with Von Lucky as much as i would have liked.
I recommend it to everyone to try at least once.

I had a lot of fun. Played Tribal on the Friday and laughed as the gods decided lightning was their way of cuddling. Then DBA on the Saturday with 6 games against opponents that knew what fun was.
Look - it may not be for you, but then if we were all the same things would be boring.
Also looking forward to Eureka's new ranges... through the ages ;)
Shopping wise, picked up a whole lot of things - including a heap of Knights Models' Marvel blisters for $5-$10 each.

i for one was at first interested in hearing about this years cancon...

Hi Slayer, whatcha upto? I've got a mother in ICU here and a mother in law in a hospice in Auckland so I'm not doing much at all.
Getting to this thread I would love to go to Cancon and Auckland is way more overdue an airstrike than Canberra.

Sorry to hear Slayer and Stu, I'll try and update the blog tomorrow.
