Joe posted a little preview of the upcoming GA expansion on his blog. Go take a look, it has some nice little details.

Also there is a flip through on YouTube

Is there going to be a Nickstarter for this, anyone?
Cheers

I asked Nick @ NorthStar about this on Facebook today - he says Kickstarter mid Feb once the snake men are sorted out.

Lost Colossus is on it's way to us for Monday, and Osprey have said 'sell now'

Slight problem for the next Nickstarter as we're still working on the Snakemen for this book.
So the plan is, if you buy the book now, we'll record your order and if you come back to buy into the Nickstarter deal for the figures, we'll give you a free frame of plastic Ghost Archipelago crewmen. You can of course wait till the Nickstarter to buy your book as well, this is an offer for the impatient.

An offer the impatient has taken up.
Or is that the in patient ?

received my copy this morning.
not had time for more than a flip-through, but the original artwork is stunning - just seems to get better and better.

Received this morning.
Had one read through, much more of a structured campaign than before. That's meant in a good way.
Also I liked the comment in the introduction: "There is really only one way to play Ghost Archipelago wrong, and that is not to have fun."
I think that applies to a lot of games, inc frost grave. :-)
-
I think Joe's introductory piece is brilliantly judged - agree with it whole-heartedly (narrative content etc).
love the campaign and new rules / beasties / magic items / crewmen etc. Game's shaping up beautifully.
(fine) artwork is superb - so pleased Osprey hired that team - and that they've done the illustrations exclusively.
if I have a criticism, it's the miniatures photos ... bit uninspired seems to me. They've not had time (I assume) to work up dioramas that actually match the text (at all), and that's a bit of shame to say the least. Also some of the figures chosen (that heritor with the big wooden shield!) don't do the official range a lot of justice imo.

Hi Bloggard
The photo comments have been noted. Joe and Phil?

Any word on the Nickstarter for this?
-
Soon.
I'm getting the figures together now.
If you buy the book now, we'll keep a record of your name, and if you buy into the Nickstarter for the figures, we'll put a free frame of plastic Crewmen in your order.

I appreciate that, but overseas shipping to the U.S. is a killer. I would prefer to order all at once and save what little I can on shipping.

I'm waiting too, but North Star has very reasonable shipping rates to the USA.

25% of your order is reasonable with a minimum of 5 1/2 Pounds? You and I consider reasonable very differently especially when order things as small as miniatures. Each time you buy one 4 Pound miniature it is costing you currently $1.39 in shipping fees. If you buy less than 5 models at that price, you are still paying the equivalent of $7.59 in shipping. I know overseas shipping is different, but it is hard to justify to me paying that much knowing that from a U.S. based retailer I could pay as little as $.99 or around $3 to $4 for 10 or so miniatures. No thanks, I prefer my shipping on the cheaper side and to not increase by 25% of my order each time I add something to my cart. The only time I consider it is during a Nickstarter and even then the freebies have to have enough value for me to consider it. Last time, the value wasn't there for me. I am hoping this time it is different.

Keep in mind that as long as they are minis and not books you will get a VAT discount, so it’s 19%, but 25% extra for shipping you end up paying something very reasonable.

Last time I ordered, I didn't get any discount off the prices that were listed.

As far as I can tell, neither did I.

Things change all the time, my dears.
Changes at North Star mean that anyone ordering from outside the EU has the VAT of 20% removed at checkout (not books). And following 'Leave', it'll include everyone 'cept the Brits I presume.
