I've been bitten by the Napoleonic bug again thanks to General d'Armee so I decided to get some battalions of landwehr done to fill out my small Prussian brigade. As luck would have it, I got some plastic Warlord landwehr cheap in the Black Friday sales last year. It great to have the figures there exactly when you want to paint them and not having to wait for an order to arrive. There are also a few Perry command figures to the mix.
I also finished painting some French that have been sitting on my desk half done for the past 18 months.
P.S. Don't ask me what possessed me to make their coats a lighter shade of blue. I just did them like that for some unknown reason to man.

Not so strange, I think they could possibly have this shade of blue.
Your skirmishers have nice, lively postures and your generals are well done!
Keep up the good job!

Very nice. You could hit the Landwehr with a dark wash. Try it on the back of a front ranker.
-
Good looking figures.
Would be very happy to have them in my army.
-
I prefer Calpe myself, but these look good, even with the lighter shade of blue.

The landwehr were a cheap option but I've gone for Calpe to make my Thuringian Battalion. These are the first few Saxon recruits..
-
They are coming out nice, eager to see them in formation!
-
Looking good!

After sitting on my work bench for a long time, I finally finished my Thuringian Battalion. I used Calpe Saxons even thought they're not the exact figures for the job. You can read my thoughts on the battalion and why I made them the way I did at my blog:

I got stuck at home today whilst a plasterer repaired some flood damage to our bedroom ceiling. So I thought I'd take the oportunity to paint up some Prussians fusiliers to make up a few skirmish bases.
-
They skirmishers look great! And the Thuringians too with their motley dress!
-
After a productive week I managed to finish a few more smaller elements for my Prussians. Some Reserve Infantry skirmish bases, a horse battery and some leftover officers to be used as ADC's.

Great painting Captain Beefheart

One more very good paintjob of yours, a nice addition to your collection! Cheers!

Nice work on the artillery. Perfect blue grey.

My Prussians finally have a divisional general to lead them into battle. These figures are from Perry. In my opinion, not the best of their range (I assume they are quite an old sculpt). But here they are - Generalmajor von Horn; 7th Brigade, I Corps.
Not the best paint job I've ever done, but good enough for the table-top.

And to oppose them a nice new French regiment. I think I'll need to add another battalion in the near future.

There's some adroit painting happening here.
-
Nice work!
My preference is Calpe. But I do have a few Perry.

My Prussians now consist of a line regiment (plus Thuringian Battalion), reserve regt, lanwehr regt, uhlan regt, two squadrons of landwehr cavaly, a foot battery and a horse battery. Now I've started on Lutzow's Freikorps.
This is the first battalion and the astute amongst you may notice that their uniform is not quite right. If you're interested you can read the reasons for this on my blog because I'm not going to reiterate it all here.
