Wow, I don't know what to do here, these are both so well painted.  I love the contrast on the Masai (Masai, right?), but I like the variety among the investigators.  As strange as this sounds, the variety among the investigators it what hurts them in the end.  When I can't find anything else to vote for, I look for the team with the most cohesion.  The investigators look a little too much like five diverse minis who happen to have the same base.

Thanks lads. The variation was a deliberate choice. Without it the painting would have been very tedious and repetitive. I try to do as much different things in painting as possible. I never did pin stripes before, never did a white suit before and both were very cool to do. I really liked last week...I had a blast in painting and with these miniatures I can shoot some cool shots for the 'Cosmic Horror' rulebook.

@Ray: Lovely paintjobs! They have a very cool "OOMPH" effect due to the colors used. Well chosen and they fit an outfit made for war perfectly. Good contrasts and a nice shot too. And yes, spotted Scooby too :D

This is a really tough one but in the end I voted for the first entry because of the simply AWESOME shield designs! Saw the dog too and the second entry is really, really nice (needless to say ;)). I love the cobblestone street and the photography is top-notch.

another tough choice, excellent painting on both sets but i have to admit i went with ray in the end, purely because his shields brought back fond memories of our kitchen when i was a kid, it's a 70's thing  :D

Both are very well done. The shields look great. The pin-stripes on the suits are fantastic. This is too hard to decide!! Good luck to you both!!

I also like the shields a lot too, each shield is unique but similar in style and colors.

Mancha mentioned the lack of unit cohesiveness. I would agree. It is a motley crew for sure and that short makes me nervous.

Tough choice.

Nice team you have there.

I was a little disappointed in my photo because the shading just didn't come out right in the photo.  In the last week I finally figured out I had the light source incorrectly set...  >:(

Bah... on to round 3!
