Title: P_Clapham's 1/72 Pulp miniatures
Post by: P_Clapham on March 13, 2018, 12:10:16 AM
Miniatures from a variety of manufacturers

I was drawn to 1/72 scale miniatures from the cost and how well they scale with toy dinosaurs. The German officer is from Revell's German Engineers set. Not sure where I got the dinosaur.

Dinosaur from the impulse buy section at Target. The adventurer from Caesar Miniatures WW II Partisans.

I tried to go with a more colorful look for the carnivores.

This isn't going to end well.

The big game hunter.

Toysmith sells a pretty good dinosaur set with a couple of prehistoric mammals. The young lady is from Caesar Miniatures Hebrew Warrior set.

Adaptasaurus from the Toysmith set.

Unsure where this dinosaur came from.

For only a few cents these figures were pretty good. I love the dynamic pose of this dino.

Caesar Miniatures WW II Partisans. I wish there were more sets like this one. High quality armed civilians.

Redbox miniatures does produce a Boxer Rebellion Volunteers and Police/Gangsters/Armed Civilians set, but the quality does not approach the Caesar Miniatures figures.

Here is a comparison shot between the two lines.

These figures are best used as filler or background characters.

Some of the gangster miniatures were quite small. I think they are meant to be a boy's street gang.

Short but dapper.

Good to see someone exploring different scales for this genre. Another advantage to 1/72 is there is A LOT more terrain features available thanks to HO model railroading.

As Codsticker says, it's always good to see different scales in use and the creativity people show in their use of figures.

Fantastic.
1/72 figures are great and Caesar's Partisans sets make great adventurers.

Great stuff.  :)

Love the wooly mammoth, or mastadon, or whatever that is with the big tusks.

Given the subject matter you may want to check out the 1:72/20mm white metal figures from Force20 Miniatures (sold online by Covert Intervention Games) since they have explorers, dock workers, partisans, gangsters, and other figures that seem to fit-in your scenarios.

More dinosaurs!

'lil T-Rex. I like how the teeth came out.

(https://scontent.fbed1-2.fna.fbcdn.net/v/t1.0-9/30742346_10155754555973143_672080296012660270_n.jpg?_nc_cat=0&_nc_eui2=v1%3AAeHv4fsGvtiYPT2XXHRodcO_-bI9eKlAwVy0yEU3eVqnCHeIO6GvwlnPaj7sum0R0bghayoBpImmwKYKzn1RmyH651X34FpEa0kGI3HRGqlz6g&oh=fa58cea4767ace44dd752ffda37b5bd8&oe=5B5A0A15)
I have no idea what kind of dinosaur this one is.

Same here. Could be a herbivore or carnivore.

With this second set of sauropods I decided to go with a colorful pattern.

Thank you! This was originally going to be used for some pulp gaming, but now they are going to grace the children's room at my library.
