Anyone notice the preorder for late Roman armoured cavalry on the Gripping Beast site ?

Being honest, I think they are too expansive. Only 12 cavalry men for 22 GBP.  Unbelievable....

That's less than £2 for a horse and rider along with other usable bits mate. Tell you what, with the money you've saved by not buying them you can buy me a pint or two at BLAM  ;D

I will do and take the footsore Riders. 2 pounds for plastic, it is not metal. But everyone should make their own decision.

So, they're the exact same price as all their other plastic cavalry sets? I'm shocked!

Can't say I'm too positive about the contents though. They are the unarmoured cav (which I quite liked, despite the limited body poses), but with armour. Same arms, same bodies (aside from a layer of chainmail). Banner from the Roman infantry set, and as an only positive point a nice selection of heads from the looks of things. Feared as much when I saw the cover showing the forward lunging figure the other day. Still, at least that saves an addition to the backlog.

Compared to metal they are still very cheap.

And I just can't see the problem with them being the same as the unarmoured cavalry. You're still getting an easy to build set of late roman cavalry in plastic for the first time ever.

I think some of us have gotten spoiled by the plastic revolution.

Not my style, but glad that GB is making easy for new players to collect Late Romans. The more the merrier!
