I really like the massive multibases that they're using in Kings of War, and I decided to raise a few units that will eventually hopefully turn into an army.
The first unit is on a 20x8 cm base. It's made of a wonky fishtank base, cut down remodelled and repainted. Also a bit small for regular 28mm humans, but it looks just fine with the Halflings.

More soon!

Ha! That's brilliant! I love the peeking kobold.

That is bloody lovely. :-*
Top job mate, top job.

Splendid 8)

Terrific! :-* :-* :-*

That really is a great diorama piece, especially considering its origins.
It looks perfect for the 'Flings.
:-* :-*
As it is a unit that will be moving across the table (presumably) I imagine that it will also be quite amusing to see the reactions of any casual observers coming back for another look a few turns later.
:D

Great fun (and very nicely done to boot)!

Lovely!! That is very imaginative and done superbly! :)
-
Great stuff :o :o
I like these scenic unit bases :) but up to now did not manage to make one myself :?
-
Great idea, very nice use for both the terrain piece and the models.

That's a great looking scene!
How does that work in the game? I've never played Kings of War, does height of a unit make a difference?

It's a bit like DBA. There are - i think - 3 different height types, but the work on the base doesn't affect the height in-game.

Lovely work more like a diorama than your average gaming unit. Do you do all your gaming at home? because you are going to need some funky carry case foam to transport that unit to a club night game ;).

Nice work as always.

I usually insert micro magnets into the bases and drop them on a large oven tray and into the car. That said - I barely do any gaming these days!

Ahh magnets got ya.
I think the bit in bold would apply to a lot of us.

We are on the same page...I'd flip to another if I were you. As a former gamer, I do like to do pieces that might work in a game, but I am more interested in vignettes & story telling pieces. AND that is a WONDERFULLY painted & based, highly imaginative example of just what I was going on about. VERY WELL DONE!

Verra noice!
-
Small 'troop' bases - I didn't want to clutter them with too much scenery.
