This is my first go at a camouflaged vehicle in this scale, I think I may have gone a little overboard on the washes but at some stage you got to call these things done otherwise you'll get nothing to the table lol.
The Artizan figures are very nice sculpts and a joy to paint :)
-
Nice work on those Jeff :)
-
The Artizan Infantry are indeed a joy to paint.
Nice chunky details and seem to take paint very well.
And the Marder looks fine. Certainly not overboard on washes
-
Really liking those. You'll have to show me how to do them!
-
Nice job.
-
Fabulous! Really like that Marder and crew but the tank hunter team is excellent as well.
-
Excellent work all of it!! 8)

Out of all the Marder models that is my favourite ....it has that "we made this ourselves in the workshop" look 😂
Really nice paint job on that and not too much washes IMHO.
May I ask which manufacturer?
-
Excellent painting on both the vehicle and figures.
One of my favorite German armor vehicles.
May I ask is 1/56 or 1/48?

Thanks, 1/56

Thank you, the paint pallette is very much inspired by your blog 😉

Thank you, it's a Warlord Games plastic model
Thank you all for commenting, its nice to know people look at the photos I put up 😀

Jeff, the figures, I dread painting mine!
-
Steve this is the tutorial I followed for the camouflaged smocks

Beautifully done, both men and machine. Brings out how the crew of the Marder are exposed, doesn't seem safe at all standing behind that shield. 8) 8) 8)
-
Beautiful. One realizes how exposed the crew of a tank like the Marder was: tall over ground, only partial cover...
-
Great work, Jeff.
I have come to fully expect excellent figures and now you have mastered vehicles too as that tank has turned out a treat!
:-* :-*
The only disappointment comes with the lack of snow....
Having gotten me hooked on snowy stuff with that book I expected more coldness over here.
;D
Maybe you will be adding it later....
;)

The height is emphasized by it not being very long. It is not higher than a Sherman (admittedly the Sherman has biscuitinium armour all round).
I assume it was drilled into the crew that it is not a tank.
-
Excellent work Jeff 8)
-
Very nice!
-
Thanks chaps the kind comments are very much appreciated, Paul these figures are for my WW2 collection that operate in a more temperate climate ☺️

Love the Marder III. FYI, tank wheels were very seldom painted with cammo patterns on that. Rather each wheel would be a solid color. The reason for this is when the tank is moving and the wheels are spinning the multi-colored wheels would 'strobe' and bring MORE attention to the tank.

Thanks pease1 I did not know that, I must admit to not being much of an historian and more of a bloke who likes playing games with nice toy soldiers :)
I just did a quick google though and there are a lot of people making that mistake as there are lots of pictures of tanks with camouflaged road wheels.
Don't get me wrong I'm not doubting you or your sources for one minute (I don't have the knowledge to do that) but the reasoning behind what you say doesn't make much sense either.
To say that the colours would strobe and bring more attention to the tank, I mean I think a 20 to 30 tonne tank moving at speed would get a fair amount of attention anyway.
My understanding is that the camo was applied in many different ways and on this vehicle the young driver 'Willie' got carried away with the vehicle mop when he was given the job of applying the paint lol so I blame him ;)
-
Excellent technique on this Marder. I especially like the camouflage :)
-
Thanks Erestor90 👍
-
Superb stuff yet again! Loving the Marder...the 'A-Team locked in a shed' style of kitbashing favoured by the Germans produced some delightfully quirky vehicles!
I have the exact same Artizan Panzerschreck team....really can't fault these two sculpts and your paint job has more than done them justice!
-
Let's add some heavy firepower, two tripod mounted machine guns to give the allies a bit of a headache when you're playing Bolt Action or Chain of Command :)
-
Nice work on those Jeff 8)
-
Lovely! That marders really nice
-
Beautiful work on both figures and vehicle! :-*
-
Lovely work :-* :-* :-*
Must be a fair size force you have now?
-
Great paintwork on those MG crews Jeff 8)
-
Lovely work Jeff on the Panzerjager and infantry.

Thanks for commenting guys :)

I've always struggled with the faces on Mike Owen sculpts. You've shown me how to do them right, many thanks.
-
Awesome! I will save this as a tutorial, thanks for sharing :-* :-*

Thanks both, do you know the next time I do some camouflaged Germans I may do a photo tutorial like I did with the Indian Mutiny figure in the Colonial section.
It can't hurt and if somebody gets something from it then mission accomplished :)
-
Definitely do a tutorial. I'm too nervous to paint my camo figures!
