I finally finished my Volunteers of Ireland unit. I've had these kicking around the workbench for a while now. Feels good to finish them up. The basing here was tricky and I've attempted to replicate common SC terrain.I'm pleased with the way it turned out.
I've also tried a new method of furling flags and am quite pleased with the results. It seems to really work well with the larger flags and holds the shape as intended.
Lord Rawdon raised this unit, which eventually became the
2 nd American Regiment. The Vols were a fighting unit that served with distinction at Camden, Hobkirk Hill and the defense of 96. Tough Irish lads!!

A few people have asked about my flag furling method. I will do a short "how to" if there is any interest.

Flag furling "how to" is up on this board.

They look very good . You base your figs in a loose order style which is very realistic. You could have added a harp to the front of the Light infantry hat but is not necessary as there is no moulding .
A unit that is a little luxury as it wasn't used that much but also important for those odd southern battles.
Good work
