I am sure last year there were some posts with painted examples from a new company. I think they were called 1890 miniatures. I think from Spain. Some guys with no shoes in pale blue ragged uniforms? I have done a search but can't find the thread or the pics. Can anybody help?

Perhaps you are thinking of 1898 Miniatures?

Quite a long thread, but some nicely painted miniatures await if you stick with it.

Yep thanks Plynkes those are the ones! Unfortunately now I look at them they will be too late for my purpose , the rifles are too modern (I was thinking they might work for Paraguayan troops in the War Of The Triple Alliance)

I seem to recall that Minifigs did some South American figures recently. Chaco War types?

If it is the same ones I am thinking of, they are for the War of The Pacific 1879, some of them might be useful thanks.

That would probably be the ones.
I wasn't paying a lot of attention as it's not an area I'm familiar with.
