Alex,

I am assuming each 8-man section gets its own LAV. Can you confirm that?

Was the LAV-3 used exclusively for Mech Inf in Afghanistan. Did CAF use lighter vehicles like landrovers or Humvees?

Each section, and the command group use a LAV. We did use Iltus' in the beginning, till they were deemed too vulnerable, then also the G-Wagen, which were also deemed too vulnerable for the IED threat. LAV's were used, along with RG-31 Nyala MK3 with the RWS turret, the Cougar JERRV, and the Buffalo mine clearance system, but for your infantry guys, the engineering/clearance vehicles aren't as suitable. There were also Coyote reconnaissance vehicles.

We're just looking into producing the correct version of LAV-III so stay tuned.

Alex, when would the LAV-III be used and when would the Nyala be used?

There are probably people better equipped than me to answer this, but the LAV is really an infantry fighting vehicle, the RG is a patrol/reconnaissance vehicle, designed to be mine/IED resistant. RGs were used for convoy duty, areas where LAVs weren't, etc
