I swear I saw a fair few maroons when I started down this trail, buggered if I can find any now.
Suggestions?
-
Trent Miniatures?
-
Think Wargames Foundry has some but not entirely sure.
-
Trent has them for sure.
-
The Foundry ones are excellent!

I have them... very nice indeed.
-
I searched for Maroons on Foundry and it gave no results. I'll chase them on FB.

What exactly are you after? Foundry do 16th Century Caribbean renegades in their Sea Dogs and Swashbucklers section (under Pike and Shot) or 17th/18th Century ones in their Pirates and Swashbucklers section (under Horse and Musket); while the Trent ones are Napoleonic-era Haitians (though are generic enough for other rebel slaves).

A pity they have put some of them into pirate packs but there are three packs of ”maroons only”

Thanks everyone. My uselessness was, in part, was not finding them via a search. Now I've been guided by the hand by you lot I have indeed found them ;) and sussed two packs I want. :)

I'll go for these eight musketeers...
And these eight infantry, a good mix of four with spears/boarding pikes and four with hand weapons

So now I'm thinking I need a hero, pref female and armed, even if just lightly- any suggestions for that?

Reaper has a female Orc pirate that can be slightly modified to provide a maroon female pirate leader. The one I'm thinking of is Reaper 03242 Rozmina:

-
The two left hand figures in both rows of the bottom picture (pack SBO -34 from the Seadogs and Swashbucklers range) are distinctively mid-to-late 16th century (the trunk hose they both wear are a giveaway; as is the adarga shield carried by the lower of the two). If you are looking for 18th century Maroons, those two figures won't fit in (and if you are looking for late 16th - very early 17th century Maroons, then Balthazar's Marauders won't fit - wrong weapons as well as clothing).

Thanks, good pointer but I'm still looking... :)

Sure but there's no alternative, unless you know of one, and I have greenstuff.

Have you checked out Eureka miniatures Colonial Portugese? Some of their Slaves or Mamaluco's might fit the bill.
