Title: Painting Denim?

Can anyone recommend a triad for painting denim - or at least any tips?

I've been tinkering, but can't quite get it right - feels like the final highlight should almost be a sand colour, for more washed out western denim. Tricky! Prefer to work in triads, but happy to hear any tips!

Post by: Andym on June 18, 2018, 01:52:05 PM: I'm afraid I can’t help you with a triad of colours, I use GW not Foundry, but I used GW Ultramarine Blue, washed with Nuln Oil, then after that it’s shadow grey/Ultramarine Blue mix up to pure Shadow Grey. I used the Shadow grey watered down slightly and painted quickly applied lines to give a material look....

Actually you can dull any mid blue to a greyish look by adding black and a dot of white to it. That's how I do it at least.
